sorry about the grammer i cant read my kids text message so i understand.I for one believe the 07 had the best mapping in the ecu but i never rode a or but did get the reflash.have you ever taken a bicycle wheel and spun it and held it in your hands while spinning?Its really hard to turn it while spinning I beieve the the 1000 crank is the same way it enershia i think thats how its spelled just my opinion I took my 1000 and put on a bdx air box 10lbs lighter speedwerx y,pipe,and can they say around 22lbs heck i even had the cylinders ported what that a few ounces lol boss seat 2 wheel kit and when riding it it was still nose heavy comapred to a friends 09 m8.When that big crank gets moving it really is alot of force to deal with while boondocking but im only a 170lbs jmho if it was me id wait for the market to drop out of the 10-11 m8 same horse power way lighter if your under 225lbs id buy a m8 if not buy a 1000 the one in that pic i sold for 5500 without the seat or pipe or cylinders.If you get one have brent linderman port them pipe it then try to hang on to it you will smoke a pump gas on short pulls.JMHO

There will be NO porting or pipe put onto an M1000 once I purchase it, the reason I am not waiting for an 10-11 M8 is because where I am they still are charging $12000 for a year or two old new sled, this is why I will be purchasing an 07-09 M1000 aligning the clutches properly and adding motor mounts, it will get a new cat seat because I like the one on my M7 and a tunnel update if required and then I will proceed to Ride the SH!T out of it because I am 225lbs dressed with my bag and thats what I want to do. I really appriciate all the good info and opinions that you guys have given me, thats why I love this site. Cheers!!

from what I am seeing WYOBOY 1000 has it right and the 2007, 2008 is less desirable because of weight tunnel and motor reverse. They are all good sled though and they would all work well. depends on the $$$ to spend

Harf69, its called torque. The M1000 has a 8mm longer stoke and 5mm larger bore than the m8. Its a BB STROKER.

Listen to WyoBoy1000 he is not blowing smoke. I had 07 M1000 and now have 09 M1000. I would spend the extra time to find a cheap enough 09 or the extra money. It's not one thing that mkaes a great sled it is a bunch of little things. This is what WyoBoy has been trying to say. I tip my hat to him for being stubborn enough to keep arguing with some on this thread.

They have consistely improved the m series and the 09 is that much better. He is not saying the older models are junk he is just stating you are going to spend the money difference trying to get the older models updated to handle like the 09.

We are not trying to justify the money we spend on the newer models we are telling you we have owned both and the 09 is that much better.
