M1000 High rpm studder, like a rev limiter????

How long has the sled been doing this? Did it just start. you could be going into detonation at the top end due to poor fuel. it is unlikely on stock compression of the M1000 but it could happen. check the top of your piston for carbon, If you it looks clean and metallic try changing fuel and adding fuel on the top end. I don't know if this will help but good luck and let us know it turns out.

I know what det sounds like and am very keen to the hearing and feeling performance. I can usually tell rpm by the ring of the exhaust. It don't think its det. if it is lean I would say its due to the structure of the fuel map on the PCIII. The egt temps come up slow from in the 1000 to 1150, not really a lean reaction. stock at WOT the egts where 1151 and holding as long as you could.

it did pop once. where did you add fuel.

i added fuel at 8000 rpm 100% throttle, running 18@ 7500 20@7750 18@ 8000 tried dropping fuel to 10@ 8ooo and it would pop studder back to 18 and problem gone 4500ft.45 psi fuel pressure.
