M vs. Crossfire...

So...

We got rid of our '05 M7-153, & M6-144...

We're Seriously shopping now...

We're thinkin' about '09 or '08 holdovers...

AND, our riding style has changed as we've gotten a little older... more trail/boondockin' & less steep & deep (well, at least my wife... she's the crazy one) so we're thinkin' about the whole crossfire idea...

I'm a fat guy, so I'm lookin' for track length... the 153" was a world better than the '99 PS 136" I was riding...

If I could pick a 'perfect' sled, it'd probably be a Crossfire with a 162 track under it... The crossfire for trail comfort/swaybar, etc... & the long track for off trail riding...

I know I'm gonna wear out Hyfax quickly, as the 162 track isn't the best on the trail...

My wife will be fine on the standard crossfire track, or - put on a 144x2 track...

any input & advice here..??..

Thanks..

You would have to go with an M series if you want a track longer than 144" or extend it. Also the paddles on the Crossfires are 1.5" instead of the M's 2.25". So if you want to extend it out to 153 or longer, just as well pick up an M series to save all the hassle. These 2 sleds are pretty much the same except for track and swaybar. Most people I know remove the sway bar anyway..... Good luck, you will not go wrong with either choice.

well...

I'm assuming that you can not put a sway-bar on a M chassis..??..

Not that there's much difference between the M & Crossfire, but I'd rather have durability over weight savings any day...

It looks like the local dealers only have left-over Ms anyway...

I would buy a M sled and put a zbroz 43in front end, get the trail handling and save the money of having to put a bigger track and or tunnel extension etc.
