M-1 Carbine?

Anyone out there know what an M-1 Carbine is worth? I found one that is supposedly in great shape, although I have not seen it, for $500. I wanted to someday collect as many as WWII guns and this will be a start. Too bad I haven't researched what one is worth, I really wanted to start with an M-1 Garand. So if anyone knows I would be interested, thanks.

I paid 400 for my M-1 carbine 7 years ago, so either I got taken (possible) or that is about right. That is a fun gun to shoot.

I also have the M-1 Garand, M-1 tanker, grenade launcher and bayonet for the Garand.

NICE!!!

I just did some quick research and if it was built by Rock-ola it is worth quite a bit more than one that was built by Inland. Inland built the most while Rock-ola built the least, and the Rock-ola was building jukeboxes at the same time so that would be pretty cool. I am just about to call them to find out who made it. If it is an Inland I will probably pass, but if is is the Rock-ola, I will buy.

if it is a rock-ola... depending on condition and serial #'s.. around here they go for 300-900..

If it is an inland with triple digit or low 4digit serial #'s and in decand condition its worth around 500

Turns out it was a Universal, made in the late 70's or early 80's. Think I am going to pass on this one, heard it on the radio this morning and got excited. Thanks for the quick info, that's what I wanted because I figured it would go fast, but I think he is a little high for me. Plus I want one as close to the WWII era as possible.

WW2 era made M-1's will bring much higher dollar but you also have to be weary of knock offs, and replacement parts and furniture from other era builds. If you want a truily all original buy one from a collector who knows.

That is probably a good call, I was hoping to have one fall in my lap, wishful thinking I suppose. Now I really want one cause that is what the old man carried in Vietnam and what my fiance's grandpa had in WWII. So if anyone has one or know of one I may be interested.

There's a sports store in Denver called "Big 5 Sports". Very low end store with a bunch of discounted stuff.

In today's newspaper they had a their normal two page flyer,

Inland M1 Carbine $999.00.

No idea how these guys got their hands on these.

I could probably pull a few strings and find an authentic one for you. There are alot of remakes and you could get the skeleton of one but if it doesnt have proper serial #'s your pissing in the wind. Order a remake from Springfield armory if its not true authentic.

You will know a true 100% authentic M1 rifle from WWII when you see it. Ive got an M25 myself that took me awhile to get but I have nothing but good things to say about it despite the .308 caliber round. Wish it came in an 06
