is it a surface igniter or arc/spark type. i know nothing about those.....but heating elements are just high temp resisters that must complete a circuit to work---failure equals an open--u can test with a continuity tester but ohmage will give you and ideal of integrity of the element....

The element was burnt so I wasn't ableto get an ohm reading from it.

I was able to light it with a lighter and some burning paper

burnt in 2 pieces? is there a reset for the ign cycle?

do you see voltage on 1 side of the element...probably doesnt matter if element is burnt in 2......time to make some passionate sex and steam that place up, huh?
