Looking for some help

Scott, I can save you the trip and bring the wood from Ron's place to you. We have a cabin close to Ron's and I am going up for Labor Day weekend. My two place is already there and I need to bring it home anyway. Let me know if that works for you. Ron, do we need any kind of permit for the wood even though it is off your lot?

Eston

That would be awesome.

Ron will this work for you?

You guys are great, this will be a great start to what I need for the year.

Works great for me.:face-icon-small-hap We will be there for the 3 day weekend so just let us know what day and time work best. Eston I assume you still have my # ???

Pretty sure you don't need a permit to haul off my lot but I will write you a permission slip anyway. haha

Ok guys, so I am still heading up Mirror Lake highway on Saturday the 8th to get more wood. I will burn through almost 10 cord to keep my wife warm. My plan is to be in Kamas about 9 then head up and take the Soap Stone cuttoff. If you follow the dirt road to the fork where you can either head to Soap Stoan Pass or Lightning Ridge take the Lightning Ridge Fork, for those that don't know that is left. We will be cutting about 2 miles from the fork in a big open field where there are alot of standing dead.

Thanks to anyone that can come help out,

Scott

Scott,

Sounds like you are getting it taken care of. Three years ago I had a surgery which put my wife and kids in charge of the fireplace. I found a lifesaver at my local pallet shop, he sold me his pine remnants for $100 for a dump truck load, about 4-5 cord. These were 1x4, 2x6, and 2x2, raw pine pieces cut between 10 - 14" long. They were an absolute life saver that year and burn great. The 2x6's can burn like a good night log if you stack them tight, or fast and hot if you open them up. I have since used them with split pine and have very little ash. Transport from me to you would be a bit steep, but you may find something similar in your area. I was pleasantly surprised how easy a route this was with absolutely no cutting or splitting, just some good exercise hauling.

Good Luck, Ben

Great idea on the pallet scraps! We will have to hook you up next year Scott. As for this year, the ball is rolling and we need more help this Saturday. I have already dropped one load off at Scott's place (Thanks Ron!).
We are meeting Saturday morning at the grocery store in Kamas @ 9am. Scott has a permit for up to 10 cord. As of yesterday, there are only 4 or 5 people going to help. If anyone can spare a chunk of their time Saturday (the 8th) I know Scott and his family would greatly appreciate it. If anyone is from the Davis County area and wants to run up with me, let me know. Food and drinks provided!

You're welcome. Glad to help out.
How much do you think is there after splitting? I'm no cord expert but guessing 1-1/2.

I am headed to lake powell today. I wont be able to make it this weekend. If you end up having to make a couple trips maybe next week let know. Sorry

I can't make the 8th either, unfortunately. But if you decide to cut more on the following saturday, or need help cutting and splitting at your place, just let me know. Hard to get a word in here...lol....tons of great, stand up people here!
I also don't get on here all that often, so if someone wants to shoot me a text, or call, and let me know who you are, I will get up to give you a hand.

So SnailBait and UtahEdge, I will most likely want to go the following weekend also and wrap up what I need I wil let you know Sunday or Monday.

Thanks guys you are all awesome

Scott

Just a heads up... We are going to meet at the 4 way stop in Francis @ 9 Saturday morning. If you can make it, your help would be much aprreciated. The Forest service has apparently dropped and de-limbed a bunch of trees. We are going to cut what we can get on the trailers in longer lengths and then cut to size when we get the wood back to Scott's place. Should go quick!

Just a shout out to Eston, you are awesome. Thanks for the help today.

Hope to make one more smaller trip next Saturday so if Snailbait and Utahedge can still go please let me know it would help alot and I would be able to maxt out my permit for the first time.

I should be good to go on Saturday. Let me know when and where.:face-icon-small-coo

Can we meet at the Francis store about 9 or 9:30. I hope UtahEdge can make it I will try to get at least one more person. Just gonna fill my truck and pust some on the trailer.

Thanks for the help

Scott
