Looking For Insight on 2013 Sleds from the Big 3

I'm thinking about getting a couple kits for the snowbike conversion since we already have dirt bikes. They would just be something fun to have. The sled is necessary for skiing because you have to get 2 people to the top of the hill, drop one off, and then the other person rides the sled back down.

The xp is super stable for double riding. The pro isn't as good for double rides but is much better for boondocking. Both ghost ride well. The xm is good but $$$$. I got one this year and am loving it. Sleds are much cheaper down there. You going to Valdez or gwood? It's on right now!

Personally I think if your GF thought the Phazer was tippy, the RMK's are gonna feel terrible to her. I would direct her towards the Indy 600(wider ski stance) and you the 600 Pro RMK. You would both have a blast on these sleds and you'll have the worry-free powertrain :thumb:

The reason you see allot of used Polaris is because they sell the most, and there riders rack up the miles quicker. But like someone said above, stay far away from the 900 IQ motor or even the 800 in the IQ, 700 is bulletproof.

I don't think the reason so many Poo Pro's are for sale due to their lack of relaibility, but more due to the volume of Pro's sold and the refinements each model year.
That said I bought a new '12 Pro last month for a ridiculous deal, but it was a divorce sale.
Coming off a M1000 and still having a M7 I did not buy the Pro for it's reliability, in fact I don't really trust it (I do now, bit not in 1000mi form now). 50/50 bought it for the chassis and the great price.
If you only want '13 models, I'd say toss up between Cat and Doo for what you're looking for with the nod going to Doo so you could get a 600 and 800, his and hers.
If you want to stick with the same brand and want stable on trail yet good/great in powder and reliable, I'd look for lightly used or holdover 09-11 Cat M6 and M8's.

I talked with the Cat dealer and I'm going to take a SnoPro 800 out this week and see how it rides. I'm pretty excited to try something and just feel the difference. May get on a Pro 800 also but I stopped in today and it was in the shop getting worked on:face-icon-small-sho Maybe not a good sign.

If you end up deciding on a Cat check out Boyz Toyz in Eagle. Gary has good prices and a good guy.
Question for you about the Phazer?
Looks like it may be a good sled for my kid next year. He's 10 now but kinda small. Tippy is not a problem. He is good on his old 1980 Cat that defines tippy and no issues with my Pro or M7, both set up tippy.
How easy is the steering effort?

The steering was kinda weird on it. She had a WAY easier time trying to steer my Nytro than the Phazer. The Phazer just took a little more muscle to get the bars to actually move.

Have 3 phazer mtns lite and a couple of short track phasers and a couple of stretched nytros.
Just back from 700 rides in back country with 14 year old nephew on a mtn lite - smallest in the group as every else was on F8's, 1100 Pro, 800 / 600 execs & sdi's and nytros - he was never at the end of the group or stuck at the bottom of a hill. The phazers have to be ridden like a dirt bike / lots of rider input but hold their own for a 500 cc 4 stroke sled.

Selling the Nytros but holding on the phazers .... love the nytro motor & clutching but balance point is too high and too far forward.

Tossed between the Freeride and proRMK but horror stories about the engines meltdowns for the 2 strokes are off putting and estimates of 2000 / 3000 miles is only a season or two of riding. Would love to have the Nytro motor in a doo / poo chassis!
