relentless rider, I like step one on how to get the hippies out of the tree's. Ported 044 or 066 works well I bet.

Yep the 066 works great, well did the piston smacked the top of the head and broke the rings.I put a new big bore on it ported, first pull it started and ran for 3 seconds and locked up,a peace of ring was stuck in bottom end:face-icon-small-sad.So now its the old 056av ported on race fuel.

A friend of ours had an old 096 back when I was a kid.
I don't remember how long of bar it had...but I swear it was 48" or longer.
I'll ask my dad what that thing was.

That thing was UNREAL!!!!!

Scott, Do you remember if he used the saw around here? I thought maybe cutting spruce in Idaho or something or maybe even worked over on the coast to need a saw that big. He must have also needed a five gallon can to carry enough fuel to run it.

On a good note it sure has been a nice to see a few logging trucks running up and down the road once in awhile. Everyone can remeber when they were common place truck after truck headed to the mills and now when you see one it seems to be a rare site.

I mowed my yard too,but the wife wasnt happy how i did it:face-icon-small-hap

I went down the driveway and back a half a dozen times to "spread the gravel out". Wife was impressed with me too.
Got a big load of wood today, about 2' above the cab with the old 454 chev. Of course the nice big fir trees were in the crick bottom. Long story short, I damn near got stuck in 3' of mud with 1 1/2 cord of wood in the bed of the truck. Then I decided I needed more speed and had it on two wheels with my lumber rack leaning over almost touching the ground. Then, I had my head out the window to see where I was going and got covered in mud. Best part was the wife and kid were with watching the whole thing! She decided that we need to have a camera with on every occasion.
