Last year I ride on 6" just to get my belt broke in.

1 year to the date...today was awesome. Buddy mike put 79 miles on his new kitty (he had 30 before I got to Lolo pass, haha).

Deeeeeep. Didn't leave the road, followed pick up tracks all over.
We ran out of other tracks up by Shoot creek, but toward Lily Lake.

I broke trail going up to Lily, had Jacob on double with me and the snow plastered him in the face while I stood behind him and avoided all of it. Powder carving all the way up to Lily.

Deep.

The snow berm was 2 to 3 feet tall all day long.

No base, but it's freakin deep on the roads.

sweet....

Time to rattle everybody's cage and fire the sleds up...

I'll hopefully be back Thank's weekend.

Try to get all the fellas together for a little put around..

Of course, Westmont cant ride until after noon.....

Haha, jus kiddin Johnny...

Getting exciting now, how was everyone's weekend for those of you that made it out? I resisted the urge but I'm not sure I'll make it to thanksgiving.

I resisted the urge to dive off the trail, even when it was over 3' of powder. Was very hard...even up at Lily where most of the stumps and logs weren't visible.

Nice bull, I might hafta go hunting next year, now that I'm a full time MT resident again....

HooeyDoo is up to 40, might try to get up that way here soon....

Tapatalk'n LG G2....

Great Burn Update from Backcountry Sled Patriots
No news is good news…I hope. The Clearwater NF has removed from its website: notice of a winter travel map coming out in early 2013. At least I can’t find it. It was originally posted late 2012. Even though the Great Burn is technically closed due to the Clearwater NF travel plan, legally the closure can’t be enforced until the winter travel maps are released to the public.
The Clearwater NF collaborative meetings have been set back to early 2014. I’ll keep you updated as these move forward. Once a plan draft is released which I’m guessing will be April/May there will be two rounds of comment/objection opportunity. I know a lot of you stepped up to comment through the e-collaborative process last spring which was fantastic. I believe (hope) that resulted in a significant turning point in our favor in this Forest Plan. It looked to me that snowmobiler comments outweighed the Wilderness people by about 5 to 1. First time I ever saw that happen. They will, however, realize this and be rallying their troops the next go around. I also know from past experience that if people comment once they seem to lose an interest in commenting again. The wilderness advocates have the same problem. So to prevail we will need to make our voice heard loud and clear through comments when the comment/objection periods open. Even if we get a proposed plan that we want it will be necessary to comment to support it. I’ll be pestering you with a repeat of this message as we get closer to “crunch time”. I just wanted to start a dialogue now so hopefully you will pass the word along well out in front of the actual comment/ objection periods.
The Great Burn lawsuit is in a holding pattern. The next step is the Federal Judge in Boise will either request **** hearings or make a summary judgment. When I checked a couple of weeks ago there was no indication when that may happen.

well....was gunna sell the turbo sled and upgrade but I lost my title and the state is way behind on titles...soooo its gunna be another month or so till I get it....so I guess ill be riding duchess for another season. time to turn up the boost and see what breaks!...then turn it back down a little lol

me and a few buddies are bored and want to go riding somwhere new just to check it out this weekend and plot later trips this winter.

We know that whitefish area has good enough snow to ride, just 5+ hours.

what say you about the missoula area? never been around .wanna at least come cruise and check stuff out. worth it?

Hoodoo and Surveyor are some of the best riding in western Montana. You will need a tour guide. And your big boy pants.
Lolo is ok but not going to make it worth the trip.
