Lolo, Surveyor, HooDoo, Lookout--Stateline Riders Assn: 2014-15

Well it was decided that we're going to pass on going into surveyor today.

The area will officially be proposed wilderness starting 5/1/12 unless a last minute change happens.

I had a good run in that country. It's not right that such an area can be legally closed by a piece of paper and or a gate. Surveyor and the surrounding areas itself has always purged out the number of riders (really speaking of all types of back country users) on it's own keeping the balance of humans and machines vs nature in check. This is an area that didn't need help from some to keep others out.

it total BS that we will no longer be able to ride this awesome area....and what really sucks is that I will not be able to have the opportunity to share this country with my kids one day.......legally. got snow camo? :D

Mod's might as well delete this thread. It's all over but the cryin'.
Who's in for an organized "ride the wilderness" event? If we could get 100 people to ride it they'd have a helluva time enforcing tickets.
I just found out today the F.S. is trying to pass a Grizzly Bear Management Unit up around Plains, T-falls, Trout ck and Noxon. You wouldn't even be able hike on this land under the proposed guidelines, and it's a $10,000 fine if caught. This country is going to chit!

Where is the Clearwater travel plan?
Where are the maps. If I remember reading right, there are parts of the state line that are not included in both/all versions of the map and description.

SUNDAY???

Would be my last ride of the year.... is anyone interested in going???

Surveyor??? Lincoln??

I would like to ride but I have other commitments both days. It's starting to look like my last ride was about three weeks ago.:face-icon-small-sad

Yes you can thank the litigious azzhats that took Surveyor away from us.

Yes, you can still ride at Lolo.

I think Lolo is toast for the season. I will post some pics from a guy who went up there fairly recently. gotta save them from an email first.

Lots of dirt the way I heard it. There isn't even much snow at the rock.

I think these were taken May 10 and that was the reports I got below, so factor in the HOT weather we had earlier this week...

"Getting pretty thin heading to the warming hut. Good after that. Lots of dirt on trail 1. Trail 2 was better, but getting thin. 4 1/2 feet at the warming hut" and "Looks like about the end. Pretty rough going in, lots of dirt on trail 1. Little bare in spots on Packers Meadows Rd, but pretty rough"
