Self-described libertarian pundit Bill Maher ripped Barak Obama during a lengthy monologue on his HBO program Friday night, accusing the president of being obsessed with appearing on TV and failing to come through on pre-election promises.

“This is not what I voted for,” Maher said. “I don’t want my president to be a TV star.”

Maher criticized Obama’s constant television coverage and said the president should focus on fixing the nation’s problems instead.

“You don’t have to be on television every minute of every day — you’re the president, not a rerun of ‘Law & Order,’” Maher said. “TV stars are too worried bout being popular and too concerned about being renewed.”

Maher continued: “You’re skinny and in a hurry and in love with a nice lady — but so is Lindsay Lohan. And just like Lindsay, we see your name in the paper a lot but we’re kind of wondering when you’re actually going to do something.”

Maher added that Bill Maher Obamas presidential rival John McCain was right to say Obama acted like a celebrity and, amazingly for Maher, the comedian suggested Obama needs to act more like his predecessor.

Yha, but it sounds like he's criticizing him for not being more liberal. Obama's failed a lot of 'star struck' liberals. They where expecting love and free money, but he's only shoved buckets of money at special interests. Bush was shoving checks in their hands, and avoided speaking.

He does it all the time. If you follow him much it is obvious he rips on whomever he can.

The funny thing is one of the traits of a narcissist or someone with NPD is that they can't stand any sort of criticism. "The narcissist is easily hurt and insulted. Even the most innocuous remarks or acts are interpreted by him as belittling, intruding or coercive. His time is more valuable than others'...Any suggested help, advice or concerned inquiry is immediately cast by the narcissist as an intentional humiliation implying that the narcissist is in need of help and counsel and, thus, imperfect and less than omnipotent. Any attempt to set an agenda is, to the narcissist, an intimidating act of enslavement."

I'm sure it really bugs BO that Maher is slamming him and that gays are pissed at him too.

Thus you have BO complaining about Fox when he has all the other channels. I have Fox on all the time and there are PLENTY of Liberals on almost every show. They let the Libs have their say and include the opposing side in the panels. They have multiple regular Libs as commentators. They have democratic strategists on with the repub strategists, they interview Dem members of congress. Huckabee on every show has Libs on and gives them very fair treatment.

Sure, you know Fox is conservative and they outnumber the lib commentators, but they do let the other side give their opinion, which the other channels do not. Why is that not OK when all the other channels are 95% Lib?

In fact, there are a few of the Libs I actually respect on Fox, even though I disagree with them (like Juan Williams, Kirsten Powers, Geraldine Ferraro), because they are able to intelligently argue their side (most the time). Several really piss me off though (like Bob Beckel and ex-Alan Colmes, and whenever they have Barney Frank, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, etc.) because they talk loudly over the other people and try to shut them down.
