Lava Lodge has that big house, thats kinda old but very big, or you can try this

We stayed out here 2 years ago and it was great!!!
Its kinda back up in the boonies but you have places that have food and gas that are close and alot of deer and moose running around ( look at my page on here,mountain riding album, you can see us petting a moose) The guys who own this are from around Minneapolis MN and they ride also and were out there when we were there( they have another place above the garage) Very good guys!! We had 9 people total with us with plenty of room to move around, huge kitchen to do all your cooking, if you want, nicest place I have ever stayed in IMODallas

could you tell me how close these places are to LaVA MOUNTAIN LODGE ? I know where that is , it has been 5 years since i have been to Togwotee area.

ITS NOT IDEAL BUT IF YOU GET IN A JAM U CAN STAY IN DUBOIS AND DRIVE UP TO Togwotee MOUNTAIN LODGE IT ONLY ABOUT 20 MIN WE LEFT OUR SLEDS IN THE LOT UP THERE LAST TIME THE GUYS THERE WERE REAL GOOD TO DEAL WITH.
Warm Springs in on Union Pass, A long ways from Tog or Lava. The Mtn Pinnacle are all right in the general area of the Lava Mtn Lodge i think!
some facts
1) If you wanna ride good snow all day you have to stay at Togwotee
2) Dubois is not 20 minutes away...its 40 or more
3) Lava Mt. Lodge often has no access to riding because of NO SNOW
4) Union Pass often has poor snow
5) "Mary" is a bad person, distrusted in local community
Do your math carefully and you will find that Togwotee is the same price and makes for a much more enjoyable stay.

Totally disagree sorry!!!!40 min drive every day one way from dubois.....Tog has been great.....you do get what you pay for!!!!!!I guess the super 8 in dubois is only 105 a night plus gas everyday not to mention the wast of time....rip off tog is NOT!!!!!I have ridden there last 5 years and no less than 5 trips a season and ALWAYS fresh or untracked........But then again I get what I pay for!!!!

people living around her yer money,+dont give James at Lava who is a
great guy,who has built a class place,w/old west flavor,also tog is maybe more
of rip than 5 yrs. ago,butttt is still the premier snowmobile resort in the
country,for that you have to pay for,+++get a guide,+you will never ever
regret it,if your in it for the good ****,DW here,+im just an old seasoned
50,000 guided mi veteran of the area,or if your as in it, as i am,i bought home
west side,Dubois,again get a guide +the crowds disappear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tog might seem more expensive up front but, after you figure your gas in the truck (daily), time, lost riding time, sitting in the truck daily (twice), plus if you stay at another hotel with no meal service, finding food. or if you rent a cabin, condo, now your budget goes up for food, plus someone has to cook, and clean up after every meal ect....
you are staying at the lodge, on the mountain, right where the riding IS. they provide, the rooms/cabins, food, drinks, guides, pro shop, rental shop for just about EVERYTHING, and service garage if needed.
you wake up every morning with nothing more to do than, shower, eat breakfast, and go ride FROM YOUR DOOR.
in my opinion, you are waaaaaay ahead to stay at tog if you are going to ride that area. ski

Usually alot less cluttered with sleds then tml. We trailer up to tog a couple times to hit some of the stuff southwest of tml. Great times always, and if there is no snow at lava it is only 15 min to tml park n ride!

Is Tog expensive? Yes. Is it worth the extra bread? Every red cent. My buddies and I make the trip over from MN every winter. Once we park the tow rig upon arrival, the only key that gets turned are the ones in our sleds. After driving 18 hours to get there, the last thing we want to do is more driving. Dosey, great to hear from you. Steve, Jeff, Mike and I are signed up for the week of Dec 27th. Hope to see you up there. New chromoly (1/4" wall baby!) steering post and M series front end. Can't swing a Pro Climb
