Sunday morning at about four we woke up to our dogs barking a carrying on. So the wife gets up and looks out side to see what is going on and spots a guy trying to open the back door of our enclosed trailer. So she opens the door and asks him what he is doing, he says "Nothing don't worry I'm not trying to steal anything" so she shuts the door and yells at me someone is in the trailer then she calls the cops. I get up and get dressed and head out see what all the fuss is about, I can hear something running so I slip and slippers on and head out side to find the side door on the trailer is open and one of the sleds is running. So I go in and shut it off and find that all the gas caps are gone, (later found them on the floor along with everything else he tore down). Cops show up and say they tracked him down a couple blocks (it was snowing) where they found he had kicked someone's Christmas decorations out into the street. Half hour later the cop comes back says they caught him and he is of course denying everything, but they found a key on his person that had a polaris key chain and asked if it was mine. Well I had checked all the sleds and they all had keys in them, so we went back out to the trailer and found that my new dragon sure enough had keys in it, but they where not mine. So the cop took them out and put the polaris key it and it fit. At this point it was almost starting to get a little funny because we noticed that the key chain he left behind had a bi-mart card with a number on it that can be traced back to the owner with a simple call the bi-mart.

What an idiot, for both our sake I guess we is lucky we had been to a Christmas party all night and I was still a little tipy myself and not thinking real fast or I might have found myslef out there swelling and eye shut on his dumba$$. And then I would have been in trouble to.

Long and short of it is don't forget to lock the trailer. Although he did not break anything, if he could have gotten the back door open it could have been very bad for him and anyone else on the streets that he ran into.

Jay... didn't I just tell you about what's been happening in Boise and you said that your little town of Baker doesn't see that sort of stuff:rolleyes::eek:.... Like you said... good thing you weren't thinking fast, you might have shot him.

Glad things worked out for you... :beer;

Yep should have been listening a little closer. I always lock the trailer, but had been in out all day moving things around and getting things ready to go for the year and spaced it off the last time I was in it I guess. I don't think he was trying to steal them for more than a joy ride, but you never know.

why dont people beat the crap out of the person they see stealing stuff or about to every one knows our canadian justice system does next to nothing so at least the feeling of braking bones would be worth while...

Cant believe how lucky you are. So how much snow did you get?

It is still snowing here today, another 4 inches this morning already here in town. Only have a couple feet in the mountains down low yesterday. Probably a lot more snow up high, weather is to bad to go up yet.

You should have shot him, then the rest of us would be safe. ;)

4 AM and a fuzzy head I was not really thinking to straight, I was still trying to figure out what he was up to and who it was. I could not beleive he was trying to do what he was and that he thought he was going to get away with it. My first thought was one of my buddies was messing with me for leaving my trailer unlocked. It is a small town, but if I would have gone out there and hurt him I would probably be the one in trouble now.

The second I hear a sled fire I would be reaching for a shotgun and heading out the door..... friend or foe!

We caught a guy quite a few years ago stealing a sled.About 6 of us roughed him up pretty good while we waited for the cops to come.He was backed up into a buddies backyard along the alley and was trying to pull a sled into his two wheel drive truck. There was a bit of a slope and he got stuck with his bald tires thats how we caught him.His accomplice got away and Im sure he wished he did too cause it took forever for the cops to come and we made him lay in the snow until they did except for the few times my buddy picked him up and rammed his head into his truck.LOL.The theif never got much for a punishment I think it ended up being a fine and probabtion total joke.We should have cut his hands off or something.

Not sure they will do much to the guy but they charged him with UUMV, Criminal Mischief III and Criminal Trespass II. Neighbors are saying now that he could not have done it he is not that kind of person and he feels real bad. Kind of hard to deny it when you are caught with the key and the cops find your keys at the scene.

I am so fed up with this stuff!
There is no deterant. If they get caught, it's a slap on the wrist...WTF?!!!!

Is it reasonable to bring back good old vigilanteism?
Nothing serious, just some broken fingers....the first time.
Then if you catch a theif with disfigured fingers, cut a couple off, then if you catch a theif with some missing fingers, cut off a hand.....you get the point.

I sure am glad I live in Los Angeles. :D

Now there's a phrase you just don't hear very often.

That's ranks right up there with....
"I wonder if I could pluck out all my ball hair?"
or
"I sure miss army food"

That is Justice (the ruffing up part)but here in Oregon there is a Measure 11 Crime and it doesn't matter what that idiot was doing to Jay's stuff if Jay had hurt him bad enough Jay would have gone to jail not the moron who broke into his trailer. Minimum sentence 5 years 11 months NO EARLY RELEASE!!! You get into a bar fight in this lame A$$ state and you go to freakin prison for almost 6 years but hey if you cook a big O load of meth you get 18 months. Go figure. Glad he didn't hurt your new baby Jay! Should be getting your PL box anyday.

I gotta agree with ya on that one...

I lived in Sedro-Woolley for a while in the nineties, when this punk gangsta from Tacoma moved to town. This cat found all the kids feeling sorry for them selves and turned them into little bitty gangstas like himself. They started the usual mischief, it was bad enough to the point the town had meetings. So a buddy of mine decided we should go under cover. Painted up station wagon and all go out at night catch a few of them and head for the mountains, blind folded and let walk back,,,,,, one area in particular would have been a 26 mile walk with lots of roads to choose from for way home. Shortly after this, gangsta punk was escorted out of town with no invite back.....

Yer ol' lady shouldnt have asked him what he was doin' and yes should have snuck out there and swelled his eye shut for him. The prick is just going to do it again. In India when you get caught stealing they'll cut 1 of yer hands off. Their tradition is to eat with 1 hand and wipe with the other, so if yer missin 1 it is quite the dishonor to do both with the same hand. That's a lil' of what we need here in Canada. Almost have to take the law into our own hands. I know alot would not agree with this but. Im sure there are many law inforcement fellas on here that will spout off this way, they should also be willing to tell all victims how " tied up" their hands are legally. Locally in BC right now I think there are about 11 inclosed trailers with all kinds of toys in them that are "missing". Why you ask? Because its just to Damn easy to get away with it and only get a peepee slap..............
