Live on Rabbit Ears

I know how to solve the parking problem. How about instead of EVERYONE going on Saturday and Sunday, some people go during the week. Everytime I've gone to Rabbit Ears my truck is the only one in the Parking Lot. Never been on the weekends though. The only time I go on weekends is when there is a lot of POW POW.

Weekends are for gapers. Go during the week and you will have everything to yourself.

PJ Maybe you just need to get up there a little early. The muddy lake lot was packed pretty tight on saturday morning.Really couldnt get much more in there. The forest service needs to make us a larger parking area its just going to get worse.

I'm planning on being in the parking lot, whichever one that may be, no later than 7:00am saturday morning ... I'll leave Vernal right at 4:00am, should put me there right at 7:00am ....

I've found that if you get there much past sunrise you're SOL for decent parking :(

Sure. You find somebody to watch my 2 kids and I'll be there every day during the week.

I get there early EVERY weekend. FYI, you could have put 5-6 more rigs in that lot Saturday. I have seen way more trucks in there than what was up there Saturday. Maybe CDOT didn't have the lot plowed but that is no excuse. From what I have seen almost every weekend is the RV campers. They park, they unload and then they park their sleds in the next parking spot over, thus wasting another spot that somebody else could park in. For Christ's sake, they have a 4-place enclosed trailer that they could keep their sleds in overnight when not riding. People need to start thinking of others when they park. One of two things is going to happen, people are going to start fighting like they do in the Snowies or the USFS is gonna start charging, which at this point, I'm not against one bit. We, as snowmobilers should band together and develop a brotherhood, but year after year it gets worse. People start thinking more of themselves and their expensive machines than other riders and their equipment.

There have been many times that I see a guy drive up with a king cab, long bed truck with an enclosed 4 place trailer and unload 1 stinking sled. I have a buddy that comes up by himself and he loads into the truck bed. People cannot blame CDOT (even though they are lazy idiots). The issue is the fact that folks cannot and will not consider the fact that other people are there to ride too. This needs to come to an end.

Thought you were going to stay home with me... Thought we were a team lol :D:eek::p

We can rig up a guerney and bolt it to the tunnel so you can ride:D

I agree PJ, the parking your sleds where vehicles could park is BS. Pull them up next to your rig or put em in the trailer, so more people can enjoy the snow. A think most of them would comply if you asked them politely to make some room for your rig. Maybe i'll get a "dog the parking lot fuzz" badge like dude had at SLO ride.

We'll be riding Sunday Mike if your looking for a crew.

Just got back from riding today, pow was very nice. started to warm up a little down low as we loaded up and sun peeked out a bit. Snorkle conditions as you go north. Friend of a friend had to leave M7 with broken diamond drive back in the deep. Track was locked up, but secondary was spinning free.

CDOT plowed lot with loader today as it was deep in there this morning.

A nifty plastic one? Would you wear it around your neck, kinda like "bling"?

PJ We get up their EVERY weekend at 9:30 to 10:00 and can park along the road into the lot just like last weekend. And yes I"ve run in to people at the back of the lot who dont want to get out of the way.You just deal with it your always going to have Aholes in every sport. We parked 6 rigs on the lot road at 10:00 sat. morning. And I see nothing wrong with a 4 place unloading 1 sled you bring what you got.Who wants to mess with a sled in the back of a pickup truck.
