Live on Rabbit Ears

Ahh, we saw the remnants of your bonfire Saturday morning!

What a zoo. We were up there at 8:30 am and squeezed into a spot and the upper lot. Snow was awesome until about 2:00 and started turning sticky. More snow this week. . . talking about a big storm Saturday here in Denver. . . hopefully will be good up there next weekend!

I was meaning that it would be good for a Snow Hawk. They run real good in the hard snow conditions up there.

Great, now we'll have our favorite poster weighing in:rolleyes: I knew you were pizzed when you flipped me off Sat, but putting the words "snow hawk" in a thread is dirty pool:eek::mad:;)

I'm not pizzed!

Ralph sure has been pretty testy lately. Feeling a little "backed" up lately? :D

Just getting stressed because of the economy and lack of work. I thought Obama was gonna save the world:rolleyes::rolleyes:. I need to find DECENT work soon.

Hey guys, I got to tell you I was pretty excited seeing all the sleds up there. That was a first in my 7 years riding here in Colorado to see such a turnout. There is plenty of places to ride up there, just everyone needs to be more considerate on the parking end. Band together, don't split it apart!:beer;:(

I have done everything in my power to get peeps to park nicely. I have posted proper parking diagrams for all of the lots, I have literally asked folks to straighten out, move their sleds 15' closer to their rigs, I have even had to call the cops because I was threatened by a group of azzclowns from a big city 2 hours East of Kremmling. They had parking cones set up and were SAVING 3 spots for their buddies that hadn't left Denver yet.

NEWS FLASH! I have researched this, spoken with the Forest Service personally and it is AGAINST THE LAW TO BLOCK PARKING, SAVE PARKING, SAVE CAMPING SPOTS OR SQUAT on USFS land.

Peeps have to pull their heads out of the azzes. I was at all of the lots looking for Wonderbread and in every lot the parking spaces were being unwisely used. The MC lot had less people in it, but yet there was no room to park! It is ridiculous that peeps were having to park illegally on the side of the road or having to actually leave the area. I know of several guys that had to leave and they went to the Gore and rode up from there. I feel for them cause everybody knows that the Gore sucks. People could have parked in the skier lots and taken their chances with the USFS if they were to get caught riding through the frigging skiers precious private area! Even the parking lot at SST was chock full of people that weren't on tours.

Hang in there, things oughtta pick up some for you this summer:confused: At least you got back to work right away, even if it sucks. At least the sleddin should be good :D

I'm not working. I refused to do some work that I deemed unsafe and they let me go, needless to say I called OSHA. They agreed with me, made a site visit and cited Confluence Energy in Kremmling with almost 20 safety violations. BIG FINES, into 6 figures! ha ha ha!

Seems when the lot is plowed before people start packing in, the parking is much more sensible. I know the lot looked pretty easy to negotiate on Sat, but on Thursday eve and Friday the snow was deep and the banks weren't pushed back. Kind of comes down to parking where you get stuck at that point. By Friday night the lot was chock full of campers and rigs parking in these conditons, so you should cut them some slack. CDOT came in Sat morn and cleaned it up some, but it wasn't until Sunday with the lot emptying out, that they started pushing the banks back another 10 feet. All those Monday riders had a nice clean lot to park in !!

Right on Nan X2

Parking lot full?

Hmmm, It took me 1hr 15 minutes to get to the bathrooms from the road on Thurs night had to chain up all 4, unload sleds, etc just to get back in there. Friday morning they made a poor attempt to plow the lot. This is what caused the mess at muddy creek. That is by far the most rigs/sleds i've ever seen there. :eek: Great riding with you on Friday Bushy. Till next time :beer;:beer;:beer;

when we were in California this year they had one of these fancy things at the entrance....

even if there were stripes painted in the snow, an unfortunately sizable portion of the population couldn't figure it out.

Heck Yeah, I'll even make them myself this summer! I'll see if the USFS will let me install them.

Half of the idiots that park there would need Sesame Street to help them learn how to read the sign. I have posted diagrams lots of times, I know that a good percentage of peeps at least read SnoWest so I would hope that they could at least understand a picture. Maybe we need to publish a pop-up book with coloring exercises and stuff.
