Like him or not, the speach kicked A$$

Triple: No bad rep from me....I threw you a green.

I can't say that I'm either for or against Obama. I wan't too crazy about either of our choices.

The way I see it is this...The voting is over and this is where we stand. We might as well take what we have and work with it. Ultimately Obama works for us and if he doesn't pull through we can get rid of him. The people of our country need to unite and work together to point our country in the direction it needs to go. If not we will just continue to spin our wheels.

The bad part is I don't really see this happening. There are too many people out there who would rather piss and moan cuz they didn't get their way, rather than grab the bull by the horns.

hey tripple- no bad rep here either; I don't even know HOW to rep:)
Here is my political take on this... There was a golden moment to change ALOT of Wilderness/roadless rulings in the last eight years; even promises during the campaign eight years ago to open up/use the resources in our forests. Fast forward to now, and we have HUGE burned up timber plots rotting and going to waste, bettle killed pine for MILES, and I can't think of many forest circus roads that have been re-opened.

The way I see it is with the new Prez, we are on our guard at least, and will question more things and be vigilant about what we still have instead of just being complacent and not caring/paying attention to our government. She may be a rough ride for a while, but at least we are moving and shakin' and "might" put up a canidate next time instead of letting the News decide who will win. Keep the faith!!!

Just another "dumb Canadian" who's about to get a bunch of red rep (please sign them so I know who you are) for what I'm going to say.....

The guy won the election. The other guy wasn't even close. It doesn't matter if you agree or not, it doesn't matter if you like the guy or if you think he's just acting like he gives a $hit. It doesn't matter if you voted for the other guy. The majority of your countrymen voted him in as the President. It's about time the American public had a politician that the majority of them can cheer for. Maybe enough of the citizens will get off their arses and get your country back on her feet where the world needs her.

Americans are wonderful people and I am glad that we have you as a neighbor and trading partner. I'm also glad to have many of you as forum brothers and sisters. There is a renewed hope in your country and maybe that will translate into better times for all of her citizens. I would take your leadership over ours any day.

If he closes a few riding area, adds fuel taxes etc. and it has a net negative effect on your riding, so what. An avalanche will have a greater effect on your ability to ride and there are still a bunch of us sledders that will take off up the side of some mountain no matter what the warnings under the guise of "adreniline" or "weighing the risk and reward". I am not implying any insult to the poor guys that have perished on the mountain this season (or any other season for that matter). My heart goes out to their families who are left to pick up the pieces and move on.

Obama is now the President. The entire world is truly watching now. If he screws up, kick him to the curb in 4 years time.

Let the red rep begin..........

All three of you provide some excellent views I think. Pres. Obama will be the most scrutinized president by his people ever. Like it was said, the election is over, done, history. Now we have the chance for the betterment of the U.S. .

I missed the speech, I was busy working. I have no doubt that it was a great speech.....he is quite skilled in speaking well. a lifetime of politics and being a lawyer are good for that:light: I hope he is able to pull it all together as well as he said.......in the begining of the campaign, when it was "as long as you don't earn more then 250k I will not raise your taxes".........I hope it is does not come down to the numbers at the end of the campaign.....that 250 went WAAAY down.

I am very anxious to see what happens.....albeit nervous as hell.

I hope wall street trusts him, we can't go any lower on the interest.

I decided to take the day off and go sledding. I figured that was the best way not to get my head full of empty promises, my head in a helmet with sled noise, was the best solution. Also I am semi fed up with the historic event. I am tired of hearing about him as the first black president, I don't care, prove yourself. I could care less about his skin color, but can he do the job. Prove you can CHANGE the country and I will be impressed. So tired of hearing the sheep followers around the country being interviewed that the inaugaration is a new day and the country will change over night. Get a clue. Its gonna be a long road, and I hope and pray, now that he is PRESIDENT, he can do it. He is my President, and I now wish him the best, but only time shall tell.

oops here come the neg reps.

Well, to me, sledding, hunting and fishing are the best things in america... I hope they do not go away with our new pres...

no more of this 'first black president' crap....mother ****er aint even black

f**cking seconded. So sick of hearing about that.

There's a guy at work that said "If you aren't voting for obama you're a racist".

Nothing I could do but walk away.

I just watched the speech on you tube...

It didn't do it for me :face-icon-small-dis However, I have high hopes for our country!!

If the day comes when a president is elected and the color of his skin is NOT mentioned by the media or seen as a factor by votors of the same color.....THAT will be a good day. Until then, racism is alive and well. I havn't heard so much distinction between black/white in my life until Obama was elected....and not just from whites. I could really care less what color he is....and his mother is white, so why does he choose to consider himself black?

Because he looks black, like it or not people do see in color and they do judge in color. Speaking for people in general. Everyone of us judge people the moment we see them, the way they look, their hair, the clothes they wear, everything. You might say you don't but you do. Is there a reason why you wear nice clothes when you go out on the town, or when you show up to court for a speeding ticket, etc?
