Like him or not, the speach kicked A$$

Speeches are great, but it will all come out in the wash. We need action, and I hope for all our sake, that he can deliver.

I missed the speech due to work...well sort of. My boss, a co-worker & I were in Impact Guns where a brand new Glock 23 .40 S&W flew off the shelf. Pretty cool seeing the speech while with a friend that was buying a handgun. It's technically "work" if you are gun shopping with your boss, right? LOL

He may be "a pretty advanced speaker" but that is what inspires people. I think people are in need of inspiration and hope right now. I know I am. I hate seeing people lose their jobs, and am so thankful I am employed right now.

For the most part I like what I have seen over the last 2 months, because it appears that he was serious about bringing the country back together beginning with Congress.
We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.
He does not appear to be as soft on defense as some have made him out to be, but time will tell. I also think that in time he and the rest of America will see that a lot of the security policies of the Bush administration were good, and not huge violations of civil liberties as some made them out to be.

Though I mostly disagree with him philosophically, I am giving him a chance. That's a lot more than the lefties ever did for President Bush.

The glimmer of hope I have comes from the media:confused: (hang on I will explain). As far as I am concerned, a very big part of the economic depression has been brought on by the media. They HATED Bush with a passion and ANYTHING they could find to make him look worse they blew up to Titanic proportions. In doing so, they scared the bageesus out of the people to even spend a penny. It was all downhill from there.

Obama however has the media in his pocket. The media is THE most powerful entity in the world period! If they start showing the positives that exist, it will cause a ripple effect. If people start hearing it's getting better, they will feel better and the cash will begin to flow. That's where my small bit of hope he will deliver and that he will be successful comes from.

I believe the biggest challenge facing the president is not going to be the economy for the above reason. Now as for what to do with the war, and America's reputation with the rest of the world,,,,, therein is where the challenge awaits him.

That part of the speach gave me goose bumps! I was ready to go kick some towlhead arse right then!

Not trying to start a religious war but...Really? What proof do you have that Jesus was a great speaker? Please post the YouTube link.

Short answer 1: Because he told me
Short answer 2: Because Obama told me

Long Answer :How else would you get people to believe in Christianity and to have spread the word of his god? God was a good speaker too... I mean, you would have to be to get Noah to build the ark!

I would have loved that part also, Sako, if he hadn't been bashing our way of life earlier in the speech. Talking about consuming to much and more blah like that.

Noah built an Ark, not an arch. you would think an engineer would know the difference. Public schools, eh? ;)
