Yup B. Granite arrived about 2 weeks ago....got a matching table to do too, since they charge for the whole slab anyway.....

Is the grain painted on?

That granite kitchen table you made, has got me thinking. I like that a lot. Must weigh a ton though.

Nope, aluminum skin is swirled with Buffing wheel then translucent paint and clearcoat....Kitchen table is about 5-600lbs and bar is probably 4-500,,,Won't blow away in our Lethbridge Chinook winds! Depending on the light angle hitting it (14 track lights in basement) the light reflects differently....

man I hope you do this for a living because if you don't, you would make a killin makin that kind of custom stuff. people would eat that chit up becuase you could make dams near anything!! Nice lookin stuff.

Thanks Gas but I have tried making tables and mirrors for people quite a few times over the years but those that see it and want it don't realize (much like Custom sleds) how many hours and hours of labour go into this stuff...The second one goes way faster as there are no blueprints in the top of my head and stuff doesn't just appear overnight. So they are a little reluctant to pay anything substantial for it...Most times I only get my materials cost out of it, and after quite a few times of getting burned I only do it for me now.

absolutely fantastic work...know what your up against trying to get the market to understand the time etc...my wife carved a mountain goat scene into a homemade thick wood door...when she does more the doors will be around 4500 to 6000 bucks..very limited market for custom work...but it can happen...again your work is superb !!!!!
