About the c-clip you could try running a magnet (stong one preferred) around the belly pan. In the past it has been very successful for me in finding lost items.

Haha, ya, I do ride it... I've put 175 miles on it so far and it has a little over 2200 on the clock total

Ya, I haven't had a chance to look at it since... I'll probably mess around with it a few minutes this weekend b4 we ride and see if I can find it, otherwise I'm just gonna ride....
