Open the side panel of the clutch side. Up by the console is the pyramid frame section (above the air box). There is a large wiring harness covered in wire loom that runs along the frame and leads up to the console. There is a single black wire that comes out of the wire loom, goes into a connector and then goes back into the wire loom. If this wire is connected your speedo will read KPH, if this wire is disconnected it Will read MPH.
What happens is, someone changes the belt and see's this wire disconnected, connects it thinking something got unplugged.
