Klim warranty -FAIL thread gone, WT?

Site

Id pay a hundred for a good site with good info.
The changes that are happening seem to be drawing the life out of this forum.
The mod question, the indecision over swapmeet, No Bashing? wtf?
The only thing left on this site will be the "show me your tow rig threads"

If Ford becomes a sponsor can we still post a Chevy in the tow rigs?

What would happen when polaris sponsors the forum, can we still talk about other brands? Will all the 800/900 problem threads go away too?

So the original thread is gone for good. I do not know of the post that crossed the line?

This is the exact reason I have to save my posts after making them now

original post.......

Guess it should be to no ones surprise, another warranty item denied by Klim......well two actually

Sent a pair of boots that were falling apart in earlier this year. Kinda half expected the warranty to be denied, it was. Bit the bullet and bought a new pair of boots...and the exact area where my boot failed was reinforced with rubber. Guess they had alot of boot failures like that....thanks for letting us do you R&D.

Well I sent a brand new pair of gloves used 3-4 times in . The stitching between the finger in a spot or two and then thumb/palm stitching fell apart almost immediately. I used them for the last few rides then put them away for the summer.

So they call me today claiming they were exposed to some heat as is evident by a noticeable sheen on the palm of one? And that this compromised the integrity of the stitching causing failure. For the record I had not touched the pipe/can or use a muff pot/hotdogger. These gloves were new and falling apart . I start to argue my case in a very well mannered and professional way. No exposure to heat...new gloves...come on this is warranty. Then they change the story to "it appears maybe a small snag started the stitch failure."

Ok which is it? Heat or a small snag? How did heat get down inbetween my fingers to cause damage?

They still have the gloves so I cannot post up pics..but will

Needless to say I am very disappointed in the outcome of the situation. I let them know of my disappointment and that they had lost a valued customer....they did not seem to mind

picture of the denied boot claim...stitching failed from the inside out.

No, I was watching it but it seemed to be on the right track with no hardcore bashing, so I left it alone. Personally I think it's a good thing if businesses get outted for not backing up their very expensive products, especially if they only hold up for 3 to 4 rides. And we know that Dizz doesn't ride too hard so he couldn't have blown the seams out on his own.;)

I agree 100%

You guys didn't think it was a big deal, but someone got their feelers hurt.

If you are going to continue on this quest you need to keep the thread more civil with a less accusatory tone.

This is exactly why people are pissed, you remove post that is legitimate. You give me an infraction because I said "suck" WELL..........You gave me an infraction, I gave you red.

OK, I finally got word back from Chuck Harris. The thread was pulled because of the track that it was on as far as "bashing" Klim.

It is of my opinion that Tudizzle had a valid complaint, had in fact contacted Klim regarding the FAILED warranty claims and tried to do things the right way first. While he and I have had our own separate issues, I believe that he was right to complain. I think that a company, any company for that matter should stand behind their product. Especially a company that charges as much for its product as it does. I wear Klim products and I do like them, to me they are they best out there and I hope that they continue to be the leaders, but denying a small claim like his is wrong. A pair of $100 gloves should last longer than 3 or 4 rides.

I am saddened to see that companies like Klim and Boss Seats have turned to using foreign labor to make their product and it is obviously showing in the defects that are popping up more and more each day. I hope that they can resolve this problem and go back to being a reliable company that produces a product worth what they charge.

In the future when you have a complaint about a retailer, manufacturer, dealer or such please post photos, letters and any proof that you went about trying to get things done correctly and professionally before starting a public complaint. I feel that you will still get your point across to others and even the retailer. Any posts that go into blatant and senseless bashing and name calling will obviously be deleted, so don't get all bent out of shape when it happens. It may be me that does it, it most likely will be a super mod that deletes it, as I will try to edit or get you to edit before somebody else disciplines you. I don't want to see members leave this site as we are all brothers and sisters in this sport and should stick together.

FYI, I don't drink any Kool-Aid. Hence the warnings that I have gotten from Admin myself.

Right on, rage against the machine!!!!:beer; I wonder if a mod would get fired for their bars turning red. HMMMMMM......I hear a mutiny coming.

So in other words, censor your feelings/thoughts/actions to match that of the feelings/thoughts/actions of the super mods or die! Hmmm, anybody ever read animal farm?

No kidding! So no bashing allowed anymore! Only nice talk boys and girls. Remember if you don't have something nice to say...don't say anything at all! What a load of crap. The longer this thread goes the more it pi$$es me off! You can't say anything anymore unless it is what the mods want you to say.

I appreciate your efforts PJ and realize this is probably the only answer on the topic we will get. But what was bashing towards Klim? People were relating their experience's both positive and negative.

Most agreed the product they produce is of very high quality...but just that their quality control and hence ability to warranty things has changed dramatically in the last 2 years.

They had a strong reputation in the warranty department, which for most was one of the main reasons they would pay the higher price. But as is evident by the several experiences related, that has changed. People should know these things, especially on a forum that is supposed to provide this kind of first hand consumer experience's.

by removing it and not letting the discussion play out it makes it look like Klim and Harris have something to hide?

Is this kinda more of what the future of Snowest will be like? A major sled manufacturer has a big problem in a new engine, but has yet to recognize it themselves. If people start posting that their engine blew on their new xyz sled and they are upset...will these threads be supressed?

Hey at least there is a silver lining.......now all my frustration and disappointment is focused on Snowest not Klim :)

I thought that was exactly what I did? If someone made a post in the thread that was inappropriate than that post should have been removed/edited. (ok well not really, but in the spirit of the new snowest this should be the procedure). A mod could have come in and made a comment about keeping things on track. (ok not really again...but ).

My point is removing the entire thread was not the appropriate thing to do in my eyes. Is there any chance of the thread being returned from exile?

I also notice several threads with blatant product bashing but nothing about those are addressed. Does this have something to do with being an advertiser here and receiving preferential treatment?

Product reviews are one of the main reasons I use this 4M. The good, The bad and the ugly. If someone has an opinion about a product they should be able to voice it. Last year I bought an EZ-Ryde, Before I did I read every thread I could find about it as well as actually talked to people that have them, before I made the purchase. Just trying to be an informed consumer. Now boots gloves are not on the same level as an Ez-Ryde but I do value the opinions that others have shared on any product.

PJ thanks for stepping up and clarifying where the original thread went, the fact is I know you didnt have it pulled but that is exactly why so many people are upset about the status of SW right now, over moderation. If Klim isn't going to stand behind there product then other sledders have the right to know that. How many times throughout the years have problems been brought into this public forum before the proper channels were followed? MANY MANY times, and yes the people were ripped on for the doing it, but those threads were never deleted they just slowly died away as the individual figured out he had done wrong by making his problem public.

Are we to P.C. the we have to make sure everyone gets along perfectly and there can be no conflict. And I'm not directing this to you PJ just my overall feelings here.

Dizzy
I my original reply to this thread last night I called my klim gloves pieces of **** with less astericks and then I flipped PJ a little **** too. I didn't attack him nor did I bash Klim directly other than there lack of warranty coverage. But CJ was nice enough to pull my post and give me an infraction.

Gees, I wish I would have done more research before buying my new powdercross gloves. $89 is a lot for a set of gloves and when I purchased them I certainly expected to have them last. After reading many replies of failed product and warrenty claims I think I am going to take my gloves back to the dealer that sold them to me and get a refund. Luckily I have not worn them yet and I've not removed any stickers etc. Sorry Klim I work to hard for my money to not buy a product that works and stands behind their warrenty. Who else makes this style of glove that is water proof, durable, and will stand behind their warrenty?

Seriously, thats what it took to get the thread deleted? Call a spade a spade. Too many PC democrats for mods.

I appreciated the reviews people were giving. It helped me realize that throwing tons of money at a product doesn't ensure you're getting the greatest quality.

gloves

I bought a pair of the Klim Windstopper gloves two seasons ago. After about 3-4 times out I had the stitching come loose on one of the gloves like you described. Sent it to them and they repaired. Finished out the season with five or six more rides and noticed the gloves were fraying in the fingers and the palm area. I contacted Klim and they said send them in and they would look at them. recieved a call back and they said I had exceeded the life of the glove. I used these gloves switching off and on with a another pair through out the day so the total hours of use on these gloves is minimal. They are hung up to dry when I get back to the trailer. Klim did give me a new pair but they made it clear that they would not be able to do it again because of the life of the gloves being exceeded. The new pair is well on its way to doing the same as the last pair.
I love the Klim gear I have but for what you pay and to only expect one or two seasons out of a product before you exceed its life is kinda of expensive.
Manufacture's needs to stop claiming Life Time Warranty's unless they are willing to back if for life or maybe label their products with hours of use out to expect out of the product.
Just my $.02 worth.
