Klim customer service sucks!

Dee it was directed at Handwhatever. If you read his post he bascially says if you don't like Klim or there products tough, they are so big they don't need me or anyone who reads a post like this as customers. They are killing it and nothing will stop them. Hand read my post. The whole thing not just the title. I own a retail store. I deal with this stuff all the time. I wouldn't even ask for help if I didn't STRONGLY feel that is was their problem to solve. We usually just take care of our customers and then fight with the manufacturers ourselves. I won't lose a customer over $25. Also, I did talk to them on the phone. The nice lady said "we will be sending you a new set of gloves, these can't be repaired". Then I got the original pair back with a note that said they don't warranty a tear. The material is unfinished behind the sewed edge. If the sewing comes lose it will rip very easy, it is a very rough un-sewn edge inside the glove where you can't see it. The thread broke, the seam opened up, then they tore a little on each side of the broken seam. They know this, they make the things. The gloves cost me $90. Lots of cheaper options but I wanted something good. $90 is not going to kill me but now I don't trust them to make the same call on a $400 jacket or a $350 pair of pants.

I tried to copy and past it but it would not work for me.

If this product fails due to a manufacturing or material defect we will repair the product without charge, or replace it at our discretion. This warranty is not transferable. Product must be registered by completing this warranty survey to receive warranty coverage.

Hmmmm, anyone do this?

I have seen them deny covering near new items that are falling apart at the seams, yet replace 3 year old, worn out items that are starting to leak with a new updated replacement....seems backwards to me.
If a seam fails there should be no question IMO.

M.M., your starting a fight with the Klim army. Nobody else makes good gear...Nobody else offers customer service.... Nobody else......blah, blah, blah. This is all that I hear. What I read is there seems to be very little consistency with their warranty. Your gloves are denied but a pair of pants 6 years old will be? The nice thing is that other brands do exist. HMK, and Motorfist both make great products and have exceptional customer service.

I just happen to see the registration info on the hang tags when I bought my jacket, so I have been registering all my gear.

Find one example where anyone here said anything remotely like that? Personally I think Motorfist makes excellent gear and strongly considered buying it last time instead of Klim, and I would have if Motorfist didn't insist on putting gigantic logos all over everything. I don't like being a walking billboard for anyone and Klim at least keeps their logos to a minimum and rather discreet (at least on the Valdez jacket and Togwotee pants that I chose in black). But Motorfist makes excellent gear. I also like non-sledding gear such as Arcteryx, Mountain Hardwear, Black Diamond and REI brands. But that's not what this thread was about and I addressed the complaint about Klim. I don't recall seeing a single post by anyone here that bashed another brand or said that Klim was the only good one out there, if someone did then I'd say it's an extreme case of brand loyalty but there's certainly no "Klim Army". That's just silly.

Funny thing is if you have the slightest burn warranty denied the reason the gloves have little burns is because they are SOAKEN WET all the time Ive spent about 2k on klim gloves over the years and they all get wet.Their boots are the only thing that stays dry and the bottoms are shot in about 3 mo. of riding but I keep buying them.Time to try motorfist maybe?

Those Motorfist stomper boots have real boot soles on them. They last a lot longer but you better have good traction on your boards. They are also a little short and the snow gaiters that come with the Klim pants don't work that well on them. The Motorfist guy said their pants seal up better, I was getting snow in the top of them. The Klim pants are outstanding. I sit all day in sloppy snow sometimes out here in wet Washington and I have never got a wet a$$. I hate the wet a$$. Usually gore tex fails when you put pressure on a wet garment like seat of the pants or from pack straps on your shoulders but they never leak. Should have bought the tall size but man are they waterproof. The Valdez jacket doesn't work very well for me. It gets really wet inside as it doesn't vent moisture very will. I think the thick cordura and DWR is blocking the sweat from getting out. My Helly Hansen Odin Guide jacket works much better for that but doesn't protect you from roosts on the trail very well. I follow well behind when wearing that jacket. That Helly jacket is the most water proof AND breathable jacket I have ever worn. Just amazing. See I don't hate Klim, just their crap customer service.
