Kent teachers suck!

For being teachers and supposing to be smart...they are STUPID!!! They can get in the firing line with the politicians....plenty of help out there, might be a good time to get rid of the union by hiring replacement teachers....

I love the spin they've put on this... "it's all about class size". They keep forgetting to mention the 10% raise.... I've got no sympathy for them.. I think there is going to be a back lash from the tax paying folks out there on this one..

If it was about "class size" and not money then wouldn't they be willing to take a pay cut to make the "class size" smaller. No, they want a 10% raise when most of us are lucky to have a job and are struggling to pay our bills.

We have a 10 billion dollar debt in this state and public education is around 60% of our budget. They are so stupid they can't even do basic math, what a scam.

Strike in this economy F - U!!! I'm done with the sympathy BS for teachers. You can kiss my a$$.

GET TO WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

American school systems becoming a joke.....no I take that back its fu**ing sad.

Just think one of those kids are gonna cut you open one day!!!
Thougt by a educated teacher that makes less than you!!

Wow...

I heard on the news that only 50% of the employees in Kent are actually teachers...

 WOW... get rid of some 'staff', hire some more teachers, and that will decrease the class size..!!..

this state's BS is unbelievable, I think it would be beneficial to get a few thousand people, and several large businesses to threaten to leave the state if things don't change. it would never happen but it's a funny thought.

I would have to agree, I've been to kent and the people there are not very smart  (I proof read this to prove I am not from kent)

I hear you Justin but Boeing and Microsoft are as good as gone and they still don't get it. Granted, Microsoft is more of a national issue but you can kiss our Boeing brothers, sisters and friends good bye to a right to work state (south Carolina)in the next 5 years for sure.

Be sure and raise the middle finger tomorrow if you see those idiots out in front of the schools and take the time to tell them how stupid they are being.

none of the kiro talk guys had anything positive to say about this strike. Which one guy said, it's not really a strike because they don't have any financial impact to themselves, unlike say if boeing guys strike they lose money for the cause.

It's hostage taking and the hostage is the kids and parents in that school district....they extort enough money to make it easier to pay them(teachers) than for day care and time off work. And if it lasts long enough they screw up summer vacations!!! So they will get the support next time around......

the schools here are bad enough, when I moved from here to wyoming in 5th grade I was so far behind that they almost held me back. If I have kids they sure won't be going to school in this sorry excuse of a state government.

teachers, GET BACK TO WORK YOU WHINERS

The teachers strike is complete BS. I drive past a group of striking teachers every morning and I let them know how much I "support" them, by honking my horn, gently applying my brakes and telling them they are "#1." Their argument is highly hypocritical. I graduated from college in December and had a hard time finding a job. I am glad to have the one that I have and am thankful to be getting a paycheck. I am in sales and for anyone that is in sales, you know that nothing is guaranteed. I will have to spend a year at my current job until I am eligible for any time off. These teachers ***** about class size, compensation and time off. They get nearly 4 months off throughout the year for christ sake. As far as pay goes, the state of Washington cut spending in several key areas to limit the number of lay offs they would have to make in education last year. The State is flat broke, with a soaring budget deficit, thanks to Ms. Gregoire. These teachers want smaller class sizes so that students get more one on one attention. That's fantastic that they feel this way. Then they kick their legs out from underneath them by asking for a 10% raise. The district already said they could afford to give them a 4% raise, however, that wasn't good enough. Despite layoffs they still feel that they are entitled to more money. I believe that teachers make more than their fare share. Think about this. A teacher may have to put up with punk kids, however, they knew that getting in. Teaching is one of the least dangerous jobs in the country. Let's maybe think about other professions in the public sector that deserve better pay. By that, I am referring to police officers and firefighters that leave their families to go to work everyday, not knowing if they will see them again. For being given the responsibility of enlightening our countries youth...Kent teachers are highly ignorant people.

I'm doing everything I can to get out of Boeing at 55 to 56...That's the plan anyway.
I have 5 to 6 more years in this place before I can retire comfortably after 30 years of working here.
I agree that Boeing will be leaving this state regardles of howmany deep water ports (remember that one?!) the state gives them.
It's always been the plan since Boeing paid McDonald Douglas to take us over a few years back.

Your timeline is off just a bit though....
Mark my words, Boeing will no longer exist in Washington state in 15 years from now.
They will blame the union.
They will blame this business unfriendly state.
They will blame the traffic.

The reality is this...GREED.
They can line their pockets better in carolina.

when I talk to my customers (I own a Car and truck Service center in Kent) alot of Boing guys were happy for their stike I heard thing like F@#$ them they are making millions and we get squat, I voted yes so I can have the time off, they owe us, I am soo sick of this crap they make me work overtime.
This is sad shor-cited and pathetic. As far as the teacher are you kidding me they have no concept of reality (most of them) they have never been out of school gradeschool, middle school, Highschool, college, student teaching, and then teaching.

I hope that kent makes a stand (Bust the Union ) But I sure would be hard on the families in the kent school district. I think that most teachers are good people and want to do the right thing they are just mislead by the union leadership. Kinda like Boing. They should demand to go to work and then if they dont prosicute the union leadership. It is illegal
