Just ordered Metallica Tickets!!!

I'll just say the thrash scream is not remotely musical.
I dig the music fine, but why all the yelling!!!:confused:
Gotta disagree with you here man. Slipknot has a LOT of musicianship involved, from Jim Root and Mick Thomson's guitar playing to Joey Jordison's downright insanely technical drumming. I dunno about you but the intensity of the songs are increased a lot when there is anger behind the vocals.

Back on track, Metallica is good stuff as far as I'm concerned. For those that say they've lost it. Guess what? Theyre not 23 years old anymore, people change. Progression is a big thing rather than staying in a rut all the time.

I guess the "yelling" adds intensity to the song. A lot of metal wouldn't sound right without it IMO. I can't imagine such bands like Dry Kill Logic or Slipknot using totally clear lyrics all the time sounding good, it would take away the amped feel to the song but thats just me.

Metallica tickets go on sale next week and I'm getting mine:cool:. Should be a good show with Lamb of God being there as well!

Maybe I'm just old. Each generation starts new trends.

You must have misunderstood.
Metallica = good
Slipknot= garbage.

okay...
I did misunderstand. I thought you were saying Metallica was garbage and that they are scream music.

I don't mind Slipknot, but they don't compare to Metallica.

I caught the ENTIRE album last night on the radio and it all rocked. The entire band was also doing an interview. I would imagine it aired in most major networks. Buddy of mine is in Salt Lake and he caught it as well.

Just wondering.... how old are you?
I'm sorry, but I will find it hard to take any 15 year old serious when it comes to music.

I'll Youtube them now and let you know.
To each their own I guess. Check out Blacktide if you want some new school metal thats great (non screaming). They're a group of 15 year olds from Miami that just plain ROCK:face-icon-small-coo.

Ok, I like them better than Slipknot, buy a long shot.
It's old school influence is more appealing to me.

Thanks dude!!

ACDC is playing the night before Metallica here in Seattle, it's going to be a 48 hour party old school. Damn I'm 40 this month, will I make it??

Eric-How did you come across this little tidbit about AC/DC? I love AC/DC & Metallica(OLD Metallica):D:D. Gotta make it to at least one of these shows.

You're the second one to call me out on this. I heard it from a friend who said they he heard it on KISW. I looked in to it today and it's just a rumor. Sorry.

What a tease!!!!:devil::eek:
Guess I'll just have to buy the Metallica tix....

I have satellite radio now & would have a hard time going back to regular radio (no commericals:D)...The only thing is you don't hear about bands comin to town.
KISW used to be a kick *** station back in the day....Still have some old stickers...

I will let you know if a I hear anything. BTW we ride out Pine Loc Sun alot.. Lets ride.

Please do...I'm not missing AC/DC this time around..since I missed Maiden, Priest & Crue this summer. :(:mad:
I love riding out from the cabin. My favorite is Gallagher though. Want to ride in the Lake Ann area this year. I broke my neck New Years Eve at Lake Cle Elum..have had 2 short seasons in a row. Really looking forward to sledding this year..... I have a new appreciation of life. :devil:

just heard another song from the album, cyanide, that song was definitely OLD SCHOOL metallica, it rocked... the day that never comes is still kinda weak though
