Just finished watching Boondockers V Alive!!!

Good on you Phatty..........I think the show was pretty "fly". What ever you do, don't send that "angry" dude BD2........that would kill 'em.

I think Slednecks 7 was the best film to date, with burandt and browns segements coming in a close 2nd on Slednecks 8. I liked those movies a lot. Ofcourse for all out BIG AIR, Turnagain Hardcore 5 is the ****!! Gotta represent for AK.

2x that. SN 7 gets watched the most here. I like Burandts stuff and the KOO KOO Kanadian.

Phatty........ excellent reply. Cool that you weren't offended and take the good with the bad. Like we all know, ya can't please everyone.

I think it's great when people voice their opinions about the new flicks. Helps everyone else on a budget to pick the couple vids we can afford to buy each year.
But I do wish that the ones who offer their review would offer more specifics. The thread author did pretty good at this but I'd like to read stuff such as:

What kind of music is the soundtrack?
Any known bands?
Were there any segments that made the vid worthwhile in spite of the stuff he didn't like?
What was the footage like? Close ups? Long shots? Nice mix?
I guess I'm just trying to say that it isn't very productive to say stuff like " The soundtrack sucked" because taste in music differs so much. Same with "The footage sucked" cuz riding styles and what people like to watch differs too.

Just my .02
P.S.......... My all time favorite segments to get me pumped is the opening/ theme song in MMM3, Sunnyday Believer song in Thunderstruck ( can't remember which one), Jesus Hernandez song in Slednecks Y2K, and I Wanna Rock in Boondockers 4. To me, they were perfect combinations of Footage, Editing, and Music.

Well I did explain this but missed some of your points.

The sound track to me was a little mellow and I knew very few artists. Prong was in there with snap your fingers..... But out of the 10 or so songs played I knew only 2 songs. But thats not really a big deal. Over all sound track 6/10.

Dans part at revy was good! Overall 8.5/10 but the over and over close ups of the same dude going through the same trees and the same angles on the same part, concrete snow but mostly deep powder was getting real numb to me. 2/10 for that part which was most of the movie.

I thought the camera work was good. Angles and distances were done well. 8/10.

I dont know but the film quality was a little on the poor side. I swaped some dvds just to check but on my 50" hdtv I thought this would be really great for quality. Dont know if the recording quality was off or a sub par camera. Dont know. Thought I was watching it on vhs. 6/10.

Hope that helps.

I think we need a sled flick "Awards Show"

First off-

Phatty, you are a class act. I wish there were a lot more peeps on here like you. Your great attitude and friendly, intelligent replies.

My .02 cents:

I think we have had some great teasers and magnificent photos to get us all exited for all the movies to be released for this last year. The expectation and the anticipation for the final product we have patiently awaited for is finally here. So we all have our own idea of the perfect flick in our heads and wait for it. Then it is released and maybe it's not what we were expecting. Sometimes it's BETTER than we thought it would be and sometimes it's NOT SO GREAT. O-well.
But is it because of what we were expecting? Our own idea of the perfect sled flick???
Were we looking for something different in the flick? More of this, a little more of that? Less of this and none of that? There are so many different sled movies out there to ENTERTAIN us. I'm glad there are so many to choose from and they all ENTERTAIN me, in one way or another.
Personally the first time I watched BD5 I was expecting something different than what I saw. I wanted to see more of Jenn!!!! So AT first I was a little disappointed. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th time I watched it, all I will say is Ahhhh! Just like
Mini said, Each time I watch BD5 something new comes to my attention that entertains me on a whole new level. I liked the fact that it wasn't FOREVER long and the music was SAWWWEEETTT. So I give it 4 STARS and a big O' thumbs-up! Good job on the making of and all the time it took to pull this flick together for US to watch. I think it deserves some sort of award!!!!!

personally the bd and alticity films are my favorite ! I love the pow riding gives me butterflys just thinking about it ! Every film I have seen to date has drops that would scare me chitless ! I get bored watching drops and jumps and hillclimbs the likes of which I will likley never attempt ! Unless I can find a way to NOT be at work on Monday! boondocking is the sort of riding I live for and It gets me pumped to go every time so keep it up Phatty !

Boondockers

I just got my copy of Boondockers 5 in the mail this weekend and watched it....BTW THANKS DAN! Thanks for taking care of me, great customer service! :face-icon-small-coo

Anyway, THIS is the kind of riding I love to watch.....the powder shots were breathtaking....and this whole flick was a pleaser for me. The music was different than the norm, but I actually liked the change of pace! From a creative point of view, these were very well matched to each segment. Personally I get tired of the constant headbanging songs all of the way through....maybe I'm getting old:eek: It was refreshing!!

I think what I like about the Boondockers films....I don't ever get tired of the powder carving...it's a beautiful thing! I watch and think...I wanna do that!!!
After a while, steep climbs get repetitive...same with jumping and freestyle....then the talking in films just doesn't do it for me at all. If I want to hear guys bantering at each other about who's the better rider....why I can just come here and read! :p ;)

Boondockers 5 gets my vote for the best flick I've watched this year for sure!!:D

I was a little aprehensive at first about BD5, In fact it was not originally on my very short list of films to buy at the show this year because I was not a big fan of BD4. Sorry, I just thought it was too short, choppy and a little dull compared to the others I bought last year.

Jeff (Jlowe) made me a smokin' deal on his Video at the snow show here in Washington a couple weeks back so since I was already there talking to him and Phatty I decided to pick up a copy of BD5 and Phatty threw in "Powder to the people" too.

I'm on strike right now and have very limited funds.

I have already watched BD5 twice now and I love it.
Great job Dan, Phatty and all the rest.

And thanks Jlowe for the deal on "Shred the Gnar" so I could add BD5 to my collection. AO's mother really is hot!
(Now where's that autographed copy by Hatcher, the real lady killer):D

I bought the BD5 at the show a few days ago. I loved it! The music was a nice change of pace and I love the powder carving shots. I hate it when they jump off ramps all day. I want to watch sleds in powder playing. Plus some climbing big hills. Good job on the vid! :beer;

Boondockers crew

I had never even heard of the BD Crew until I met Phatty at the boise snow show. I had my 3 year old (at the time) son with me and Phatty was amazing with him. I bought three movies from him just because of the person that he is. After watching all of the BD movies for about a thousand times I can say that they are the best made by the coolest guys with the saweeeetest soundtracks. Thank you guys and gals for making these movies. I have met a few of the riders and filmers and so far Phatty and Burandt are by far my kids and I's favorites. I wish that there were more people with their attitudes and personallities in the sport. Thank you again guys. Just my .02.

Im all about deep powder riding, no matter if its uphill/downhill/sidehill/underhill or whatever. And the big clif drops set apart the men from the boys, Geoff Kyle has some wicked drops in SN 11, its seems Geoff took the King of drops crown from Dan the last 3 or so years, this dude is nuts!....Boondockers 4 and 5 are two of the best films i have ever seen.

This is the first year i did not buy TS, it was unique at first.....but its lost its thrill fow me

Side Note - Chazzer is into goat **** and licks the boots of a Mr Wy T/A.....weird guy, 2 each his own i guess:face-icon-small-con
