Just a FYI front end height info

Pm sent. But just as Castforcash posted Makes the sled sidehill way better and easier to roll over. I also find it holds better on edge than stock.
Barcode do you have anyone running your kit out west? Has anyone provided real feedback of deep snow real mountain testing? You keep posting videos of leaning over in marginal snow conditions on a flat lake. Send me a kit for honest T&E and I will review and send it back (if I dont like it) or bring a sled out to Colorado and ride with us. You may have the greatest thing out there but I think you need to market to the right audience and show the customer real world test results.

Why must you send a pm can't you tell the world how great this is or is it top secret. The price seems good and can't say I wouldn't be interested but barcode doesn't seem to sure of it themselves. Instead of giving some real video I mean come on you created a new revaluation in sledding but have no video of it in action in this day and age. Or maybe they just don't ride like we do out west but when asked for proof they just say it's not for everyone. Well with that business model it surely won't be.

As I said earlier, I put the kit on my 15 m8 and it made a huge difference over stock. I go to Wyoming every year to ride so yes I have ridden in deep snow and technical terrain. It flat out works!

That thread I linked has some good info. Would also like to point out that Alan from Barcode was available to answer any and all questions I had when I installed the kit. My sled has had nothing major done to it. Bikeman secondary floating adjuster, Mds clutch weights, Hps can, Bikeman Y pipe, gripper skis, Bdx chaincase cover, and Barcode front end. Everything else is stock. Sled does everything my abilities can handle in the mountains.

Read the thread I posted above, that might help answer some questions you have. Post #28

So five flatlanders run the kit and say it's great for 300 mountain miles a year I'm sold. Sounds like most of the improvement is extra height and 36" front end have seen no proof on how great the five forward is.

I just knew that kind of comment was coming. I know plenty of flatlanders that ride the mountains just fine. I'm not going to get in a pissing match with you. I've tried to help answer your questions as best I can. What exactly is it that you're after here badv2??

The manufacturer to put out some proof. Instead of hiding behind Pms but it's fine I'm over it. I won't be giving this company a penny. The ice age setup is better looking and stronger anyhow.

I have seen a lot of flatlanders get more mountain miles in a year then most of the locals. Not everyone from the flatlands only knows trail riding. Seems like someone has a hidden agenda.

So no comments on how the five inches forward helps. Can't see it turning tighter without more steering effort due to the longer steering geometry to turn the skis farther with the same bar input. Now I can see getting a better tuning radius by narrowing the front 2 inches. Just curious about the forward mounting but still nothing maybe y'all are barcode. Feel free to pm if you don't want the secret out.

I'm not barcode! Forgot to mention that there is a piece you mount to the bottom of the steering post where the tie rods attach. This increases the distance the skis can be turned. Moving the skis forward changes the geometry and caster angles, allows the sled to stay on top of the snow better. I don't have any better way to describe it. All I know is that my sled stock was way harder to ride than it is now.

I am curious how moving the skis 5" forward effects handling? You say you like it but, 5" forward of the stock position and going to a 27 degree spindle angle isn't just a small tweak, it's completely revamping the entire front end design. I would love to hear more if you could provide some more detail.

Going forward puts more leverage on the back of the sled/track and reduces ski pressure a little. Voodoo steering or not, that at least addresses one of the biggest trail design holdover traits of the cats.

It's going to reduce steering effort on hard snow and increase the 'wheelbase' for turning with the carbides. I just don't know how much it's going to increase the 'hooking' on sidehills that make the rear end want to wash more since the leverage point in the snow is going to be further forward.

Given how cats like to auger in skis going downhill in deep fresh snow, I bet that's an improvement.

I get it, it's one easy way to put more leverage on the sled with less effort at the bars. I just don't know if it's the best way. It's certainly one of the simpler avenues to go about it. I've gotten so annoyed with the steering of my cat after riding an axys way more I'm really considering buying some older spindles and modding them to fit the 36" front. I almost think that would be better than using the crazy caster 16+ spindles. It's too much angle.
