JackAss parked at Baker turnaround again. WTH??

Parking in/near the turn arounds is stupid, but I never understand why some of you get so fired up about not being able to load your sleds on the fly when you return. Parking on the road @ Baker or Gold creek is a pain when busy, but there is more room if you park closer. When you get back, drive forward, load sleds, back up, if your capable, then pull out. No big deal and it allows a few more rigs to fit.

Paint scratching sucks. A dump on the hood would be more fitting. However, after all the yummy meals from the hotdoggers are consumed, a dump might just peel paint of a guys hood.:D

when i unloaded i unloaded my sleds then unhooked the trailer then turned both around in the road and parked i parked about 30yds down from my sleds because it was a corner and there was not really enough room to not stick out in the road so i moved down and someone else moved right in there i guess thats what i guess for trying to be considerate i guess from now on ill just worry about me.oh as for leaving someone on the hill i was the one with the mesh hood dragging a cat ext 580 that a couple kids used to get up the mountain to snoboard no idea who they were but the chaincase went down on there sled i ended up dragging them out with my boosted m8 talk about warming a sled up rant over ill go back to bcr

I agree 100%, but that story about the guy blocking the Y intersection to the point where people couldn't even get off the mountain is un-friggin-believable. That is an extreme case of someone living in their own private little world. People were lined up waiting for him to get back? What if someone would have had an injury or other medical emergency? I don't believe that vandalism is a solution either, but that guy should feel fortunate that all he got was some scratched paint.

One of the more upscale sled vids showed the crew with a log chain "relocating" a tree hugger car that parked directly behind the trailer.
We have started a new parking plan in the Tampico, and many are tic'd about it, however, if done as posted we can get more rigs in the lot.
Now in stead of rigs parking 40 yards behind the guy in front, they park with 10 yards alongside... So on paper the new plan works, in application it is yet to be proven.

For the guy blocking the road, I would have called the Police, and had the guy towed..... That would have made his day......

i've been blocked in for over 2 hours up there before. guys never came back and it was getting dark. no choice. had to hook up a chain to there truck and trailer and yank the chit out of it to get enough room to leave. Some people are just pricks and need to be taught a lesson. Lots of retards sledding this year. gets me kinda frustrated actually.

Gallagher is damn gong show lately too, no one used to be there, now its idiots everywhere doin' some stupid chit.

When my crew and i go up it usually comes down to me to have to the mile backup. Towing trailers sence I was 12. Sometimes that just doesn't cut it. Seen idiots for 20 years parking. When snow is high it just gets worse. Switch backs and logging roads make it worse. Cops for Baker are at least 2 hrs out, rangers show up every 2 weeks at best, and the aka slat rats don't give a funk. My best friend owns a tow service and I'm thinking of using his truck to go sledding so I can tow these guys to a parking lot where they can practice parking. All we have to do is post a towing sign and its all legal. If we wanted to push it futher we could impound their rigs and funding goes to grooming?

When parkings tight I don't mind having someone park behind me where I can't just pull up and load, it doesn't bother me to have to pull the truck out onto the road and load real quick. Just don't park in the only turn around for a mile and be mindfull of others vehicles and give them the room to manuever.

I agree...when its roadside parking I think we could pack in a little tighter and just pull out to load up. Not much of an inconvenience and saves a fellow sledder from having to ride a mile of rock. Just my $.02 but I know it pisses some people off to no end.

Damn, I didn't want to hear that about Gallagher. I am going this weekend. Are ther whoops shorter than 18"? :)

probably not - tons of people and the trail is getting beat to high hell by noon. I've seen more and more people up there now and witnessed some of the stupidiest sledding moves seen in the backcountry to date. Some ritard climbing the huge F'n chute that slides every week up there. he was way the hell up it too!? 9 of his buddies sitting on avy debry at the bottom of the hill "watching" him climb. someone is gonna die with stupidity like that. I told them all to get the hell out of there unless they wanted to join the deceased already killed by that avy chute. Not 100ft away some other tard was smokin' a cig and drinking a beer sitting on top of 40ft of avy debry as well - get this, wearing FULL Yamaha Leather "snowmobile" gear, NFMH included of course. Ahhhhh!!! go back to stampede!!!

Rant over. Get these tards out the real mountains before they get killed.

Sorry - had to just let it rip. i'm getting annoyed lately cause there's no new snow to ride!!!

Princess parking jobs

It's funny, reading this thread. Lord knows, I've thought about doing everything that's been mentioned here.

I just got back from our first trip to Revelstoke. Now, I love America, and I'm not trying to turn us into Canada (got no beef with Canada either, darn good neighbor!), but they sure seem to have a few things going for them with how they manage the grooming and parking areas.

It is my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) that the private clubs and associations actually manage the grooming and lots. There is a parking attendant at the lot, and they tell the 'participants' how to park. Sure you have to pay a fee, but I'm ok with that. They groom every friggin day! We get grooming 1x/week, until 2/3 of the season, and the state is somehow out of the money they charge us to license our sleds and trailers.

We should post some signs on how to park, where NOT to park, and then hopefully the 'princess parking jobs' will be minimized.
