Or another view could be maybe having a little understanding that there are some who may not be as fortunate as we are in their finances/careers who are still riding old iron and maybe actually can't afford a membership. There are alot of riding folks out there who don't even have enough gas money to ride.

Yeah..Panic when times are tough. Some are on and off work daily, weekly, etc, living pay check to unemployment check and back.
If you really love to ride...then...
Obviously some of us are not in tune with the real world or maybe we don't care.

If the person I had picked on were in dire straights I'd feel bad for my non-understanding comment... but judging by recent riding reports from the dude I'd say he's not one that you referenced above. So.. nope, not feeling bad.. and still giggling at those who refuse to pay due to "the principal of it..." and want paid members to repost somewhere else so they can read it.

Just shows the complete disconnect successful people have of those that may be less fortunate. "judging by recent riding reports from the dude" somehow allows you to decipher what ones/his financial situation is? That seems to be quite an assumption.

You're kidding, right? Someone riding who doesn't have enough $$ for gas? this is not like a choice between $$ to put food on the table, pay for Rx, or heat the house... if it was, THEN you can make judgments about someone not being understanding.
Before you insinuate I'm insensitive to other peep's predicaments, yep, I'm spoiled - I am far enough in my life and career where I'm fortunate enough to NOT have to make those choices. For that I am very greatful! But I've worked hard and I deserve it! Okay - flame away

I'm truly happy for you guys having success. I know it's very hard to sustain. But just because someone is not dooing well in these times doesn't mean they don't work as hard as you.
And NO...I'm not kidding about people I know scrounging cash for gas and oil to ride this year. I wish I was. Most of my riding partners are in the Construction business. They got nailed hard this year.
Just because you may not know anyone in these financial situations, doesn't mean they don't occur. If you're truthful in your question, "you're kidding, right" then obviously you and your friends and riding partners are either dooing well which I'm happy for or you're naive. There is a door to the real world. I guess you guys Don't really understand.
It's obvious I'm wasting my time by the responses of above.

getting nailed hard is having to choose between paying the electric bill, buying groceries, or picking up a prescription for your kid's ear infection....
getting nailed hard is NOT having to scrounge for gas $$ to go sledding - it's having to scrounge $$ to survive.... That is the point I am making. Or trying to make....
