It is all about ME!!!

Thats right, for once it is going to be all about ME.

I am tired of the hubby whining about wanting a new sled and then dropping money into his that by now would have paid for a new sled. I have been riding my 2001 Polaris 800 for 9 years. It became a mod in late 2002, engine rebuild in 2006, and will be in need of another after this year.

It is time I got a new sled. So what do you guys recommend I get?

Hubby wants an M1000, but I am thinking too heavy. M8 or a Dragon maybe?

It is a huge commitment and I am going to need a lot of convincing myself to do it.

Get something that will shut him up and beat him on the hill everytime. Go for the M8 or an XP. IMO, Poo has not proven to have a reliable 800cc powerplant yet. Way too many went BOOM the last 2 seasons.

Bout time
I'd get a 09 M8 if I were you. XP's take awhile to get used to but they do climb nice. If you want to stick with the Poo's don't get an 08, I know a guy who works at a Poo shop and the motor failures he delt with was unbelievable.
Think I might get the wife a 700 Poo or M8....once we find some sitters so SHE can ride. :)

So is Shaun ridding the 600 for another season then? Does he have it back together yet? :)

Ya, he finally put the grips on the other day so the 600 is ready. Hopefully he will be riding his 1000 Polcat though.

I wanted a Doo for the longest time, but I am really leaning towards an M8. I like the limited ones though, but they were a spring order so I will have to look hard for one. $11K there and probably another $1500 to get it up to where it can be, should be. I need to do a lot of convincing and some kicks in the ......... to make the commitment, but I am working on myself.

PJ, his PolCat sits in the garage most of the time, so I have no problems kicking his butt.

Snosnob, did you sell the Doo 600 already? Here is one for you. Saw this and thought of you.

What's the one thing worse than having your toys stolen??

Awesome! Sounds like you truly deserve a new sled!

I would suggest riding all of them before you deside. They all have come a long way since '01!!!

Well if you want a poo get the 700 honestly it's not far behind the 8 in Hp and is way more reliable (by the numbers). Then turbo it :D and really spank him.

Honestly though just find which of the newer sleds you can ride easiest and then go from there, the M's and the Dragons/RMK's are way easy to handle and the XP's are damn strong runners. Make him take you to a demo ride that has a couple different brands and find what YOU like best.

Nope sled hasn't sold yet. I NEED to sell it.

Oh and that's not funny either.
More like what's worse then having a whiny wife.....knowing it's going to be 10X worse for 9 WHOLE MONTHS.

LMAO

Guess what, it lasts longer than 9 months. hahahaha

Haven't you heard of post-partum depression? Do you think that precious bundle of joy is going to sleep through the night? It will be nothing like your two current children (dogs). 9 months of agony and 18 years of joyful hell. (for me it has been almost 24 years of joyful hell with Jaci) You better smell the roses :rose: now, because your going to be smelling diapers for years to come and little to no 2-stroke.
:D:D

you should check all the sleds out before you buy:D. just dont go buy the first sled that you set your eyes on, or what people say that try to make you buy what they ride:eek:. buy what fits your riding style and what fits you the best:cool:. good luck with your buy just buy from a well trusted dealer and one that someday you can trust.

SnowXTC the M8 would be a great sled for you. With very little work they rip and something that I just recently learned from my dealer, they haven't had one M8 engine failure. They've had a few M1000's fail that were modded, but no stock failures either on this engine as well. This kind of reliability along with the M chassis makes this a very good choice.

Love my new XP (09) but for 2010 the M8 is going to be hard to beat, and for around here the HCR would be the one.

You know best whats right for you. Doesn't matter what you get you'll have it giving Sean fits before the winters over. Was it '02 you did the drop n roll? Damn time flys, I recall you giving me tips on how to dnr my sled cause you had just done yours. All good advice too. Anyone who doesn't know this girl should know she can pull wrenches with the best of them.

LOL so true

Checked out an M8 yesterday. I was considering the limited because it is all black, but I am not sure I like the black tunnel and it does not come in a 162. So if I get the white and orange one, I can just have the dealer order me the black seat right there and hopefully just switch it out without an extra charge, then put in side vents and a Mountain Fit hood and next summer have the suspension and anything else orange powder coated black or whatever color I want, (purple..............

) Oh that would look sweet.

I really think I need to demo some sleds though. I am not certain on the longer track either, I just really need to put the two on the snow. I also need to consider setup and help with it.

I picked up a 09 hcr for my wife and she likes it.The cat seems to just fit everyone, where the doo is more you like it or hate it.Myself i hate the ride of the xp. Like you she was ridding a older 2000 700 polaris so its a nice step up for her.
