I've been hearing of guys playing around at stampede pass and they say there able to get up to 6k or higher.. I've been there a couple handful of times and have done a fair share of exploring and never been able to get into areas that high. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or are these guys pullin my leg?

Sorry, nothing around Stampede above about 5,500 ft.

Sorry, nothing around Stampede above about 5,500 ft. only thing close is towards Cle Elum, Look Out mountain 6,100 ft. wouldn't consider that Stampede.

I second this--in fact--most of Stampede is going to be in the 4500ft range.

God's Country is about as high as you are going to get!!

To get to 6,000 or higher, you need to go to Quartz, Manastash Ridge (Bald Mtn), Gallagher, or Blewett (Table Mtn).......Lookout Mtn is not 6K and no riding, it's all private property now...

6K riding areas

Stampede is a joke, unless your a chick or out for a family ride on an old 340 enticer with 2" of travel. Go where the big dawgs go.....to Lake Ann, Liberty, N. Fork Teanaway, Mt St Helen's, Manashtash, Baker. Grip n rip! Over the top!

i'll even throw In a $100 bucks if you can keep up and still say that at the end of the day lol but you better show up with something other than a m7 and bring a friend that can ride and GPS so u can make it back to the parking lot! And no there's no riding area there anywhere at 6k get a forest service map and check for yourself. Liberty and manashtash yeah right now that's a joke lmao

Exactley what I was thinking JVB---He does not know the area very well--he has done like the rest and ridden the power lines and think that is it--LOL

I like those types--leave the good for us!!!!

Like others have said you have to extract the good out of Stampede. I've had some great rides in there, especially with deep snow. We usually hit GC on the other side and we keep finding new spots there too. Both areas are massive but you have to like the old growth tree riding.

I used to think GC was the bomb. Spent my whole first two years riding there and was never anyone there. Needless to say in the last 5+ years i probably ridden there a handful of times. But definitaly some fun stuff there to. Great place to learn to ride imo.

Exactly what I was thinking. GC is a great place to ride and a good place to take people to learn that isn't too intimidating. Once you learn then head across the street and see what you can find. If you can't find anything worthwhile at Stampede you are doing it wrong. I'm still working on finding some of those secret spots but I think I have an idea.

I think I need to take a few of you guys around gold creek. We might not be riding the same spots. Just like some of the guys down playing Stampede. Both sides of I90 have the exact same mountains, lol. The mountains date the roadway by a couple hundred million years.

BC is the answer, but MT Baker or Saint Helens will do. Whistler is not that far away:face-icon-small-win
