Is there a fix for the Pro's brakes?

I've ridden a few Pros and they all seem to have the same braking issue. As you start to apply the brake very little happens, with a little more pressure you start to here a chatter, immediately after the chatter they lock up. They seem to be all or nothing. Is there a cure or do you have to figure out how to make the best of it?

I've ridden 4 different Pros.

I haven't experienced what you are talking about.

I haven't heard any chatter, and I certainly didn't have them "all or nothing".
I've heard a whine in the brakes, but they worked very smoothly.

Maybe the ones you have ridden are an anomoly. Not sure, man.

Anyone else?

No issues with mine or my Bud's. Not sure what would be causing your issue. Good luck

I have had my brake light come on for no reason but the brake was not on. Road for awhile and light went out.

Adrenaline Addict,

How much seat time do you have on your Pro Ride?

I've ridden quite a few... from brand spaking new ones to haggard ole demos with lots of miles.. Never experienced the problems you are talking about.

Brakes are something that all the mfgs take super seriously.

0 problems with anything. I don't utilize the braking system much except to get on the trailer and so far no dings in the nose of the trailer.

YES... I know what he means...

lol.. These brakes DO WORK.. AnD GRAB.. Just flat out WORKS!

VS..

non vented brakes that get HOT!

my .o2..

If you think you have a air issue may be... Bleed.. and try again.

Have over 900 miles on my Pro..have never had an issue with the brakes. They have worked great. Ride with 3 other Pro's quite a bit and one did have a problem with the brake indicator light staying on one day but the brake light and brakes were still working fine.

My brake is very easy to modulate....no idea what you're talking about.

The only issue is the full-time brake whine, which I just pretend isn't there.

Hmm! I thought it was a common problem, so common that a rather high volume dealer in Utah has said they may have a solution to the chatter, grab and release. I might notice it more than others because I'm coming off an 03 VE and jumping on a pro, hard to say. I've ridden several pros and have thought they were all overly sensitive. We've had ice from 7,000' to 12,000', if I would even think about touching the lever I was locked up.
I posted this question around Christmas and it didn't show as a post until today. It looks as though you're not allowed to question the way anything performs in any negative way whatsoever until the inventories are down.

WTF do inventories have to do with it? You are hearing from Pro owners, not dealers.

Mine had a metallic whirring noise most all of the time and the brakes were very touchy. They would go from no brakes to locking up with slight pressure on lever. The noise was annoying.

Took to the dealer and they did a little "mod" on the brake pads that almost completely solved the problem. Still a slight whirring noise but brakes are operation perfectly.

Cheers.

This is not 1984...

Addict-

If you go back to the Christmas time posts you will see things posted that didn't necessarily look all positive about the Pro (early posts about weak a-arms and the like). This is an independent site, and while Polaris (or any manufacturer) may ask for removal of leaked pics of upcoming models and get their way, the amount of problem posts has never been different between any of the 4 snowmobile forums. People come here to post and look for answers/help. In fact, browse through the Dragon 800 files...certainly you can't question the amount of bad-news-bears stuff posted in that light. And don't forget you are using a computer. They have a way of causing problems of their own:face-icon-small-sho

are the brakes a bit touchy? yes they are, but nearly all high performance brakes are touchy, and that's cause they work so much better than the standard brakes that you are use to. Ever got on a moutain bike with a good set of disks brakes and grab them like you do your standard bike brake? The bike will stop and stop now, you on the other hand might not.

I think you missed my point mold. I posted this simple question on 12/29 and it didn't pop up as a post until yesterday. I thought that was a little odd.

I've seen it in the past files... On 12/29... traffic was high on these forums... It probably just got burried.

It poped up yesterday because Scott saw it... commented on it which brought it ttt.
