Is the WPSA Folding !!

I heard that it might be folding and teaming up with a cross country highbread. which would include sno x and CC racing longer races and larger payouts. Just wondering if anyone else has heard anything like this

If Joe has a million $ in the bank it will probably be going away pretty soon!!!
Just look at the entry numbers, he can't milk anymore out of it.

Heard rumor floating around the polaris race shop that some big hockey team owner might pick it up, but thats just rumor right now, will keep posted if I hear anything else.

Pabst Blue Ribbon?

LOL omernikski!!! Maybe try PBR as meaning Professional Bull Riders :) And by the way I heard the same that the PBR bought out WPSA and that the ownership changed hands right after Lake Geneva. I just don't know why there hasn't been any press releases from WPSA or the PBR??????

If that is true would that mean more tv time on oln?

I would hope so. That is one of the things the sport is needing-more coverage and races held at major Metro areas. Along with awesome marketing and owners that are will to put back into the sport not just take!

From what I heard there hasn't been any TV crews at any of the last couple races, maybe even more than that.

That would actually be really cool if that means what i took it for! for those that know what i'm talking about it'd be sweet if it'd be something like the Erzberg Scramble or Romaniacs. (6 day motorcycle race thru some mountains in europe) to me that would be nuts to try! i started racing hare scrambles last fall on the dirtbike and to me it'd be awesome to be doing true "cross country" racing on a sled. not flying down ditches doing 95 but actually racing cross country through woods, lakes, mountains, etc.

maybe i'm crazy but i'd have waaaay more fun doing that than doing laps around a sno-x track......

Rumor has it, no more Sport and Juniors at Nationals, one day National events, more emphasis on regionals, I like the idea all the way around, it would help grow the sport in general, cross country sounds cool also, maybe it could be sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon??????

Cross-country is cool, usually more like how more people ride. However, they are very expensive (the most exspensive race) to insure because of the exposure to the general public. It is very difficult to secure a race venue when it covers a large area. We have had them out in our area and when you get away from people you are on forest service land and that opens another can of crap. There is always the Iron Dog, but even they have issues.

I agree, what a pain to put together.Besides nobody would show up or maybe they would, either way a lot of work for a day race . I no a spot if they get snow that could put on a team race for 24 hrs. any body interested?.
