Is the Nytro right for me?

I am looking at possibly getting an 08 Nytro, but am hesitant due to the price to get the power out of it. I have been impressed with Yamaha's 4 stroke dirt bikes, (I have a modded WR450), though have not been around their sleds. I recently sold my 01 Rmk 800 which ran awesome due to my constant habit of playing and tweaking. I ran across a deal that I think is pretty good of $6500 for the 08 model. The other choice is the new Dragon 800 or the 700 RMK. What do you think? Are they comparable? The horsepower is lower than I though it would be for the Nytro. Does it make up for it with torque? Also is the 153 track enough for the deep snow of western wyoming?

I think you will be disapointed with the power, you will have to turbo, especialy if your used two a 800 two stroke. Also the 700 dragon will have alot more power, or any 700 2 stroke than the nytro. My bud has a 2008 nytro, I love everything about it just needs more power.

Ya you'll have to spend the $$ to keep up with the others!! For starters track, clutching, rear skid (timber)..
Then it never ends boost , shocks, steering, etc etc...

If you are the kind of guy who holds on to a sled for 7 or 8 years buy the Nytro spend the time and money and mod it up and never need to touch the motor of burn any more 2 stroke oil. Once modded up it'll run with an 800. If you flip your sleds often you'll spend less going the 2 stroke route. The Nytro takes some time but they really grow on you specially once you've got it working the way it can. Stock the Nytro is a dissapointment.

If you are after a sled to win drag races, a turbo is gonna be a requirement...however, if you want a sled that will boodock with the best of them and bang through the powder then a turbo is optional, IMO. Timbersled skid, different track, and clutching make the Nytro a COMPLETELY different animal that floats and climbs with just about everything out there. The handling is by far the best, especially if you are used to a WR450....you'll feel right at home on it.

All comments above are spot on. I came off an '05 REV 800. I don't miss the power of the 2 stroke 800, I don't miss the smell (never thought much about it until it wasn't there), I don't miss the $$ on oil, I don't miss the top end performance. You have to re-learn a little bit of technique on the Nytro, but it suits my style and I absolutely love it now that it's set up correctly.
