is it so wrong??

Biggest scrap at my house on September 6th!! When I showed up with the new 1 and momma figured the other 1 was "involved" in a trade. When I told her in the spring I had ordered a new 1 she automatically figured the other 1 was leaving!!!! Took 2 weeks and a pile of foot rubs to get her to calm down. Nice to have a backup sled for sure. I spent most of my season last year tinkering after the Big Bore install. This year I can ride.......

I would be more worried about the sleds making it to the snow on that trailer then the wife

I've had 2 sleds since the '99/00 season, can't go without a backup ever! Plus my family is growing and need to be able to take them along sometimes.

I needed 2. My 1200 is fun but sometimes an 800 can be just as much fun, and now I can get my dad out agian too.

is it so wrong to have more than one sled i like to have more than one but my friends tell me you can only ride one at a time.. i just think one for sno-cross and 1 for mountains are fine dont you.. i had three up until 2 months ago .. i just feel like its jelousy or something.. and then they dont want to ride with you that often and i like to ride alot and now that i only have one they want to go all over the place.. messed up friends or what

Ask your friends why they have three dill-doe's ...........

They can only ride those one at a time........

When you're a Snowmobileaholic, such as myself, having a backup sled is a must. Like somebody said, "Winter is to short not to have one". If you can afford a backup without having your family on a handicapped budget, why not? Life's short, live it to the fullest. Right now is one of the best times in recent history to purchase a backup. There are people out there almost giving away 4 and 5 year old perfectly wonderful machines so they can ride the latest and greatest.

Maybe if the dealers stocked parts so you could fix a sled without being down for 2 weeks we would not need a backup and a backup for the backup, how many times have you heard-- "uh we kin git that fer ya in about 10 days unless ya wanna pay overnight and then we could git it quicker, that is ifn they don't backorder it, we bin sellin quite a few of em".

You've got a great point there rotax. My home town dealer doesn't have sh!t either. This story is no bull, I went through the door looking for a Polaris water pump belt, didn't have one. I then asked for a 3211080 belt, didn't have one. How about a spark plug cap, nope? How about a throttle cable for a VE Polaris 800 as mine was fraying at the oil pump, nope? How about some fresh rollers for my primary, nope? How about some fresh secondary buttons for my old 01, nope? Needless to say, I called TCP performance in Centerville and had everything I needed on my doorstep the following afternoon. I thought as a dealer (in order to be in good standing with Polaris Industries) you had to maintain X amount of inventory?

I have two sleds('08 800 dragon and '02 fully modded carbon fiber 770), the wife has two sleds ('07 700 dragon and '04 slightly modded escape). Tried to take the two older ones to Puyallup swap and the wife said I should keep them for back ups (she has seen me ride). So, I guess I have three back ups, life is good.

NOPE, right now I have 9. 1 for me and 1 more for me (wife sled, buddy sled).
One for each of my 2 children, a rock sled and 4 parts sleds.

I have got 3 as well. An 09 Xp summit for out west and the UP of Michigan. My wife's 07 Phazer (she is pregnant this riding season) which she is letting me turn to a race sled for USCC x-country racing this year, and a 1971 Elan 250 for the vintage runs. My wife is very understanding and I feel very fortunate!

Heck, you're just getting started.

My dad's fleet (they all live at his house...):

'76 Z 500 fan
'92 El Tigre 530 (for sale)
'01 ZRT 600 (for sale)
2 x '02 Mt. Cat 570 fans
'05 M7 carb
'03 900 1M 144"
'03 975 1M 153"
'04 975 1M 156"
'04 975 1M 162"
'04 1462 1M 162"
Parts to build ~4 more '04 900's

Gotta have your options....

I think I got them all...

I bought my backup sled last year (08 600 RMK 155) and my new main sled this year (09 800 RMK 155). Didnt have a G/F at the time I bought mine last year and this year i have a G/F and she can ride the 600!

So NO! Theres nothing wrong with having two sleds!

After missing about a month of prime spring riding because of a broken down sled, I won't be without a backup for this season.

Now Gravy is riding your 600 this year??

It's an addiction...

I am ALWAYS dragging home sleds. Alot of it is old junk that I fix up and sell to finance other sleds. It is hard to find places to store all of them! This time last year, I had-
00 700 RMK 144
98 670 summit x 144
My multi-year 670 mod 144
96 670 summit 136. Two of them.
93 Exciter
93 phazer
89 ovation
89 bravo
87 phazer

After fixing up several of these sleds and selling them I bought my XP. This years list-
08 XP 154
multi-year 670 144
96 670 summit
93 Exciter
96 phazer mt light. Two of them, one is coming home today.
89 ovation
89 bravo

And I am not even counting parts sleds that will never run again....

I always have to have extra sleds around, my kids have alot of friends! I also don't feel comfortable unless I have a back-up, and it is always nice to have the extra sled for a "friend in need".

Is there a 12-step program we can join??
