Is a Vector worth boosting/modding for a Mtn sled?

reeb , don't know if your last post was directed at me or not but , i do have a currant sled , 08 xp 163 with a few goodies , just thinking about a project sled , i realy like my sled , just some day's it would be nice to have some jam in the bank

Very nice looking sleds Vector, JOP and Carbondaddy.

Looks like Nuckinfutz1 decided not to turbo the Vector...it's in the swap meet. Good luck with your sale.

Putting it up for sale along with the old cabin sled, the '95 VMax 600. Many of friends and relatives learned how to ride a snowmobile initially on that old girl:). If the Vector sells, then I'll re -evaluate what I am going to do. Might just wait another year and ride the Mtn Max(it has a few "extras":D) this year and see what happens with the 2010's. I figure one more sled for this old man. If it doesn't sell, then I might just go ahead and "upgrade" it:). Thanks for so many replies and advice. I still think that the Vector could be made into a great mountain sled and I might just find out for myself, we'll see.

the vector is a great sled for that get in contact with I am Vector:D he will tell you all you need to know he knows his stuff:beer;

More advice/input needed

OK, I get the whole thing about the Vector platform, carbs, etc and, as previously stated, decided not to do this build. I spoke with Darren at Powderlites, awesome guy to take his valuable time and answer all the questions, give input/advice etc.

Now, here is the dilema. I have a friend who has decided to boost his '06 Apex along with lightweight upgrades. He would give me his stock Apex skid, track and a-arms, shocks and skis for free. All are in excellent condition. Are these parts compatible to just bolting into the Vector and, if so, are they worth installing?:confused:

Everything will bolt right on.They are still the same chassi just different tunnel.The bulk head is even the same.The only thing is you might have to measure the mounting hole for the skid.

I did them same thing in my rx1 before it was stolen. I did a sketch for the rear hole mount ups. I could round it up if you want. I also have a set of milled down billet drop brackets to fit the 16 wide track that are taking space.

let me know

I would say that if money were a huge concern and you could get the apex stuff for free, I would consider doing it. I would think that you could find a boost kit for a Vec for a lot less than an Apex or Nytro, maybe even a great deal with someone who has a still new kit just sitting on their shelf and would like to get rid of it. My question would be if the Apex stuff will make that much of a difference compared to what you have. Others with more experience will have to answer that. Good luck.:beer;

I've had my Vector since new and turbo'd for the last 1800 miles. I have the MC-Xpress kit and it has been flawless. I plan on riding this sled for another 3 years.
