IQ Front Bumper

The Skinz bumper is the bomb. Awesome fit and finish, not cutting and it is very strong. 6" tree strong.

I know i'm digging this thread up from the grave a little, but I need to know how the hood hinge works with the skinz bumper on a Polaris 2006 IQ RMK. Does it use the OEM plastic hinge somehow? Does it come with a new hinge?

Thanks in advance, and any pictures would be great!

Jay, The hood uses the stock bolts and bolts right up to the bumper, no modification is necessary. Take your stock plastic bumper and throw it away, lol:beer;:beer;

I just put a Skinz on my 900, extremely happy with it, its a strong unit for sure. You can lift the entire front of the sled with it and there's no movement...

Best part about the skinz is it requires NO cutting of any of the plastics whatsoever...:D

Jay, You can see in the pictures that you use the factory bolts through the hood and into threaded inserts that are built in the bumper. Very easy! It also looks like 94fordguy molded the plastic trim pieces to match the front plastics (good idea, might have to look at mine to see if I have that much plastic hanging over the edge).

Ya, There was just a little bit hanging over the edge and a small hole left under there, so I used a small heat gun to bend the edges over... sealed it up all nice and tight and no silicone :D

And actually when I installed my little trim pieces, I put them on the wrong sides:o If you look at how mine are aligned compared to yours, mine are attached so they taper towards the nose instead of being parallel and lined up with the bumper.

I actually like this setup better though, because especially being that I have a gray bellypan, you don't see the patch panels since they are staying closer to the hood... If that makes sense.:beer;:beer;

Sure enough 94fordguy, I was wondering why our rivet layout looked so different. You're right it does look good that way, the reversed taper flows with the rest of the hood/plastics...:beer;:beer;
