Cave,
Thank you for calling us young..... Kurt & Chelle, hopefully we will see you before you head for a warmer climate. We will be there on late Weds p.m. through Easter. Easter w/Jean. I am home sick.

INSANE day in Taylors Fork!!!!

Posted these in the Mountain Section, but thought I should post here as this is one of the "trailer out" locales for West...

A dusting overnight with a chance of flurries today and tonight. Town is a fricken ZOO. Tons of people in town, on the trails, in the bars and about every where else you can imagine. Hope everyone that is here is havin fun. More cops around here than in the whole rest of the state too, so be careful as they want you to stay in their motel this weekend......................

Me and my dad are planning to come out next year to west yellowstone during my spring break from college. How is the riding this time of year?? We would either come out sometime between 3-19 and 3-30, or my other option is during xmas break. What do u guys recommend?? We have never been out west before, and we want to make the trip good!

Thanks

If your looking for powder then I would do the Christmas trip.........

This has been one of the best years in many. So the riding now is still great, but it all depends on what kind of riding you want. Usually by Christmas we have great riding. And this time of year can be iffy, but at the worst you might have to trailer to the trail heads. We will be riding into June this year....

So you would recommend comming before xmas then? We are going to be buying our airline tickets soon, so we need to start figuring out when we are comming out first lol. We are from Ohio, and we would be renting sleds out there. We want to do trail riding, but also want to go out and ride in some powder since we dont have much of that around here. theres no snow on the ground now here, and the most we ever get is about 6 or so inches at a time. But it normally blows around and its not that good. So Xmas would be good then??

heres my professional recommendation:

go out to west, stay at kurts place (goldenwest motel), rent from bob at snowfunsnowmobiles and drink like a fish.. (shouldnt be too hard at shotgun shels)..

you will come home with a smile from ear to ear! :D

as far as the park.. ummmmm.. once you get in, you will have wished you wentto some fresh pow instead.. not thta it sucks, its just the fresh pow is better!!! :)

by the way kurt, i need to know the best month to come out in the summer.. nice weather, no rain etc..etc.. i was thinking early july.. if june is better, ill take june.. i got some people to see about some things!! ;)

Hey, according to the date on the web cam, it's snowing in West tomorrow!!!!!!
Can the crystal ball web cam fast forward all the way to next winter?
Loving the view as we sweat down south.

If you want the park, you'd better go in December as the park closed March 9th this year and would be closed when you are having spring break next year. The park is all sight seeing but soooooooo worth it.
