Do the Brandt boards have a smaller opening? The pictures on the polaris website look different than what people on here are installing? After my first ride on the 13 today I'm looking for something with a smaller opening I kept on getting the toe of my boot stuck in the opening.

The holes are smaller, but it doesn't look to be that much.

Not much is right. When polaris first released photos the bars looked to be twice the size of the stockers doesn't seem to be the case after production.

From earlier in the thread

Crossmembers on Burandt Boards just shy of 1"

Somebody measure the '13 stockers and post it up:yo:

Thanks for the pic Rick. Those P-coated or anodized?

So rounding up...

Bboards 1"
Stockers 5/8"

3/8" difference per crossmember, that's pretty good. Very tough to eyeball the difference.

Just installed a set on a 2012. Everything went really smooth. Everything lined up and the fit was great. Just used the template and traced it with a sharpie. Just it out with a jig saw.

WTF am I doing wrong? Everything has gone smooth until the point when I began trying to pop rivets. Have gone thru 2 rivet guns and still don't have one rivet in. Do I need a special gun for these rivets? I know some have mentioned the air rivet gun, but I am not going to spend $ on one just for this project. I had an Arrow brand gun that has worked fine with many other projects but not this one. I just bought a Sears brand gun and when I squeezed the trigger the head of it literally cracked into 3 pieces.

ANY HELP PLEASE!

Thank you Mountainhorse. Apparently I had the luck of purchasing 2 bad rivet guns. Borrowed someone's and figured I was going to have to buy him another when it would break but for some reason his older, cheaper version was just right. Able to install all of the rivets without a problem.

Just did this on my '12 Assault. It was pretty straight forward and the directions were easy to follow. The templates are really nice. It took me a while to do the first one until I found the right tool for the job... http://www.harborfreight.com/electric-body-saw-65766.html
The rivets for the boards are really hard too, so be sure to eat your wheaties before you start popping them on with a traditional rivet gun!
Anyway, I think it turned out really nice and they feel quite a bit stiffer than my original boards.
