INPUT PLEASE, Powderlites vs Impulse or MPI SC

the mcx has the under tunnel charge cooler, and they all need a shim if you want to run any boost on pump fuel. i would not run over about 8lbs on pump fuel with out a shim. and thats at 10,000 ft.

the under tunnel intercooler form a sheet of ice and plug off in a hurry thats why no one really uses them other than synergy . also it adds more air to compress after the turbo which leads to lag . so you get warm air and lag

How is it going to plug off? Isnt hot air flowing through it constantly? Wouldnt that melt the sheet of ice and cool the air off in the process?

LOL thats pretty funny. I have a lot of complaints about Mitch but the tunnel intercoolor is not one of them. What makes you think that a sheet of ice is goin to form over it. And if it did why would that make it heat up...... Ice against aluminum = cold aluminum = cold air.

I can shoot my intake airbox after hard pulls and get under freezing temps every time. Let see you do that with most intercoolers

Does the front of your truck ice over in the winter, even though there is a hot engine just behind it? Same kind of theory.

Lest we forget about Boondockers. If you want the best response period, look no further....

Really ?? You must have ran one of Mitches intercoolers this winter !!

I can tell you first hand that the intercooler doesnt plug off and cause warm air to enter the engine. lol Its not your typical air/air exchanger he butchered in there, Mitch hand builds every intercooler and I can tell you first hand it flat out works. If you ever see one of his intercoolers all you'll say is OH !! I wont post any pics on here, thats how one guys hard work gets ripped off. On a cool day my airbox builds frost on it !!! I'm sure Deaner can comment on how my sled works, hes rode with me. The track keeps the intercooler clean, the 100 MPH ice cold air/snow thrown around by the track cools and cleans the face of the intercooler, also provides the coldest intake charge on the market. I cant say no snow/ice builds in certain spots, but I'll take the ice near my intercooler.

I wonder how many of you can honestly say your sled doesnt heat soak ?? I can ??

I don,t understand how you would think it biulds up ice and plugs off, have you seen the charge cooler on an mcx kit, there is nothing to plug off, and if ice biulds up on the aluminum then that means the charge temp going through the cooler is staying cold, thats what you want. ice can not cause hot air in the cooler. the whole idea is to have snow-ice on the cooler to cool it here is a link you can look at the charge cooler..http://www.mc-xpress.com/./upload/snow/yha-nyt-08-b15.jpg

I could not believe how well this sled worked. I rode it back to back with a very well set up alpine and it felt WAY better. Unbelievably smooth power with no gurgles anywhere. Another thing was this sled with the synergy kit was running quite a bit less boost than the alpine and the felt very comparable. I know when I set up a nitro I will definitely be looking at the synergys!

PowderLites turbo

The guys like AdrenalineAddiction who run RB3 will be smooth power and always the same everyday.
I feel that RB3 makes any kit run way better and I know better maps will be out everyday soon.
Intercooler in tunnel I have been asked to try and build for a few years now and it's a great idea.

I think we need an independent review of all of these different kits. Its hard to get an objective opinion from someone who already owns one though. So here is what I am proposing..........I will volunteer to take a sled with each kit for a week at the beginning of next winter and drive the piss out of it. Then I can report what I find. Each sled set up equally with lets say 18lbs boost. Because I am such a great guy I will donate my time 100% on this one. Im going to need sleds with Alpine, Powderlites, MCX, Synergy, Impulse, MPI, Boondocker, etc, kits on them.

What do you guys think? ;)

Alot of us are going from MCX to Powderlites for the next season...I'll let you all know how they compare...And I know atelast one guy around here with MPI...so We'll have to compare against him too...

Turbo kits

Wow very easy to make you happy. Deaner!!
If you run into me on the hill I will for sure let you take a ride on our kit.
I already had my sled come back to me broken handlebars etc 1st time.
Rolled over and bent up with burnt belt in West Yellow stone 2nd time.
Used a tank of gas on test rides down there but has been great for sales.
Mike Obrien, Derick Smail, Bob Roadarmel and Jason all usa guys thanks for letting guys try out your sleds because it really helps with word of mouth sales.

JSCC how has your kit worked this season??? Pros Cons???

It works great. I cant stand getting back on my Apex after riding it the throttle response is so good. So I quit riding it, lol!

Honestly, I have rode with a few different kits. They all make power, thats a given. We put our emphasis on response. I am known to be a pretty anal about my clutching as well. That being said, I think I could be happy with just about any of these kits. It comes down to setup.
Now I have not rode a rear mount Nytro. But I have rode them with and without a shim. And if the lost response from a rear mount is similar to one with a head shim, you can keep it. Whoever says its not noticable needs to ride our Nytro, period.

When your brother loaned me your nytro all I could do is scratch my head because I have never ridden a turbo with that much response on the bottom, but it was the first nytro ive been on also.

the diffrence between your nytro and your apex is the same between my 1200 and your nytro though! TORQUE!!!!!!

My 1200 beat many turbo 2strokes at fairview cause I could get em so hard outta the hole they couldnt catch me even at the top of the hill, yes even at 10K feet! My turbo was pulling harder at the top of the hill, any longer of a run and it would have been game over, my 900 was pulling about 75-80mph at the top of the hill, which is about what its geared at.

I think all these kits are great kits, but they all have issues sometimes. You need to have the company to be there as well as customer service.I have had issues with a product and the company was there working with me a 100%.I am not on here to single any kit. Past experiences is what makes me either stay loyal or go elsewhere. I think i would not be the only one to say go with powderlites, just my 2 cents.

very well said. lots of great kits out there. I went with MCX because i have great local support if issues come up.

Next season I'll be able to run an Impulse and MCX side by side. Should be fun

mattymac, you should try riding it when we have our normal clutch setup in it. We were setting it up for the drags when you rode it. It was still good, just didnt backshift worth a crap, lol.
