injector question

so i need to buy new injectors for my 2005 900.

i understand there is different colours to flows.

when i go online, for 2005 it shows injector kit (2) for 900 no colour choices

2006, you can get blue yellow or red, and there about 100 cheap for 2 then 05

can i buy 06 injectors? or do i have to get the 05 kit, then hope my dealer can re flash me ECU?

Think if you get the '06 injectors then you would have to get the '06 blocks also for the 2 extra injectors. Don't think you can just connect 2 of the '06 injectors then block off the other 2 otherwise you would be getting half the flow spray of gas into the engine since the other half of spray with 2 remaining injectors would not be in use.

Haven't looked into it but think that would be how it would go.

By the way, your ECU has to be flashed for the color of injectors in use. For the '06 anyway.

don't think you can interchange injectors but not 100 percent sure. but it is a big risk to just save a 100 bucks could cost you more in the long run. buy the correct ones then you know you won't have a problem. my 2 cents.

yeah i was just wondering... as the 2005 manual says to get the correct colour injectors to the ecu.... but when i goto buy new ones they only list one pair... as with in the 06 year you can actually order different colours.

so do i order the injectors then take it to the dealer and say its these and they should be able to reflash it?

I would call and ask about it, maybe it's an option not listed for some reason. If not and you "get what you get" a Poo dealer should be able to flash ECU to match for you. Maybe someone with more 05 injector knowledge will spot your thread and have a solid answer for you.

i have a few sets of injectors..from 05 and 06..i dont see any visual difference in them whatsoever...

its just about the amount of current signal in flow differences between them IMO?

whats wrong with your injectors?

did you get them flow tested and cleaned?

if your interested in a set of used injectors, let me know..they are guaranteed to work.
