Impulse 1150 bioch!

Well finally got my Impulse 1150 stroker/big bore on the snow. All I can say is wow on all levels. Paul has been riding his all year and I heard all the hype about his being ridiculous so I had pretty high expectations. I wasn't disappointed, exceeded my expectations. Hard to explain unless you ride one but you literally can't feel the "hump" it usually takes to get over the spool of a fairly large turbo. I've rode numerous big bores over the years and can say this set up is every bit as responsive to anything I've ever rode boosted or naturally aspirated.
Not to mention the top end... Set at 10 psi, because of breaking the motor in, feels like 17 on my stock bore motor. I normally run 17 psi or so with my old motor. I don't see myself turning it up to that unless its really deep. I know I'm probably sounding over the top but it's pretty amazing. I If anyone ever sees me on the hill your welcome to ride it and see for yourself.

Vids or it didn't happen:face-icon-small-hap.... Jk in all seriousness though that sounds awesome Zeb.... Now Pleeeease take some vids

My Nypex absolutely rips compared to my Nytro so I can't even imagine what that thing must be like. Does it sound any different with the big bore, the sound alone IMO is worth the price of admission? Honestly I don't think my shoulders could take it, LOL. I'd love to throw a leg over it but it'd probably just make mine seem lame then I'd have to build one.

It is expensive, no doubt. Is it worth it? Imo yes, especially if you ride one and see first hand. As far as sound, it has a little deeper rumble but not much different.

It totally depends on what you do. Meaning cams, adjustable cam gears, valve springs, oversized valves, head work/porting, head studs, oversized/stroker pistons, rods, stroker crank, closed deck block, punch out block for oversized pistons, bearings, gaskets, labor... The list goes on. If you start with a stock motor 10g's sneeks up on you pretty quick If you don't cut corners.

I would be up for a Tonys Shoot out!! I have a Apex Engine I am going to build this summer and put in a Nytro with Pauls Turbo system. I would like to see how she runs. Maybe I will build an 1150:face-icon-small-win

What did you end up doing for a clutch on this sled after you blew the stocker up? What does the 1155 turn for RPM?

Stock for now. Spinning around 11300 or so. When I broke my other clutch it was hitting 12000 plus with over 100 g of weight. I'm going to do a stm at some point when I get the motivation to spend a absurd amount of money for a clutch.

Do you like the STM better then the TAPP?

Does the 1155 rap a little less with your cam setup or is that just where your running for now?
