Imagine Polaris + Yamaha

I was told we already have Fuji cranks in our Liberty engines. Wouldn't be suprised to see a Fuji 800 in the near future, not to mention an Orbital DI-2stroke... or a combo of both. :face-icon-small-coo

Don't no were you heard that from?FUGI crank?NEGATIVE?100% liberty since early 2000's with there twins.

If its wrong, sorry, but thats what IndyDan mentioned to me when I was in his shop a few months ago... maybe I heard wrong. Makes no difference to me right now, I like my '12 800 Assault :face-icon-small-coo

Fuji did win the bid to supply cranks in 2012. Prior to that the cranks were being supplied by an Italian company. I don't know that it matters. Both suppliers are building cranks to the specifications supplied to them by Polaris. Fuji was the low bidder to supply cranks and that is it.

A buddy of mine and his son were sponsored by Polaris and Amsoil when they raced snowcross. I was told that Fuji was getting $1800 for their two cylinder motors while Polaris could make them here for $1200. But of course this is just hear say.:face-icon-small-con

no prob...that is great that you like your assult.my gripe is that there motors are down on HP and suck 4 reliability.don't get me wrong they have an awesome chassis and no whats up in that asspect but motor wise they are in the dark! They have the resourses to make a good engine and durable why they have not jumped on board is beyond me.my point still stands BRING BACK FUGI power plants!:face-icon-small-hap

agreed. I'm just sayin that Fuji cranks exist in Liberty 800s now, even if built to a Polaris spec, it's still the start of vendor relations which opens up several doors in the future and another step closer... still just speculation.

Well atleast they are taking a step in the right direction! Now lets see some inovations!HP,reliability, etc.Class leading performance all around.:face-icon-small-sho

Imagine a collaboration between Polaris and Yamaha. Polaris builds the chassis (Pro RMK) and Yamaha engineers and builds the motors (powerful, reliable, durable 2 Strokes and Turbo 4 Strokes). Both sell the sleds in their own colors. Less R&D $ for each and increased sales for both! Win-Win. Never happen? Already did happen between Cat and Yamaha with the 120 mini-sled. Polaris are you listening?

Better yet Polaris/Power Addiction Racing! There ya go BRAD!better start manning up for some orders....heehehehe!

The 2 companies could not co exist under the same roof. Yamaha takes tried and true approaches and make no effort to make products better. Look at the Rhino for example. They came out with a awesome new product but failed to improve it. Polaris is making the cutting edge possible while yamaha keeps riding the gravy train.

The Nytro will go the same route as the Rhino. It was funny at the sneak peak the Yami guys were in the front and NOBODY stopped to see what they were offering............

Really?
95 hp 600cc sleds?
an 800cc heavy triple cylinder, triple piped sled that makes no more power than the current twin cylinder?

NO THANKS.

Dude i have NO idea were you got HP ratings from.XCR800 DTR tested 159.7hp stock v.s. 143.7hp liberty twin!13.8lbs moremotor to motor weight no question give me the fugi trip.FYI DTR has dynoed and still dynos all the manufaturers sleds and at 2012 amsnow shootout that is what your liberty twin made 3 yrs running.prior to that 138.4hp 4 the 800 twin.600cc twin...take todays tech and apply and i am sure that would be addressed.as for the 800 trip with todays tech..well lets just say the twin has no legs to stand on.

Unfortunately guys, Polaris owns Liberty engines, and nobody but liberty will ever build these engines for Polaris. And as long as we keep buying their sleds with these crap motors, that's all well ever get. We're showing Polaris with our wallets that reliable motors are not what drives our purchasing decisions. We're getting what we want -- crap motors that maybe will last 1,000 miles.

So why do I have two 11s with 3000+ miles on the original motor and a 12 with 1300? They seem pretty reliable to me.

I'd be more interested in a poo and honda sled than yamiii, but lets face it the two stroke business is not booming like it was. 97% of bikes out there are now 4 stroke so i'm not sure honda or yamii remember how to build a 2 stroke. 4 stroke seems to be the future just need to make the hp and get on a diet to fit into the industry. Def need stock turbo's to appeal.

Have you heard of the e-tec? They are 2-stroke and are in Bombers sleds and Evinrude out board motors. Just because the Japanese are moving towards 4-stroke motors doesnt mean that 2-stroke technology is dead. IMHO 2-stroke motors will be around for a very long time.

If you are going to make a Collaboration... Make it all RED!!

Polaris/Honda

Pro RMK, Honda 4 stroke, 2 cylinder with an integral starter/alternator... magnesium cases, super-bike technology. Basically "marry" a 450F together... ditch the gearbox... and boost it... Viola!! a 460 lb nimble 4-stroke...

But hey... Polaris purchased part of SwissAuto... Lets cross our fingers it was for some cool 4 stroke Industry leading simple power plants that are light and useable!!

If you ride a Polaris, you'll always be riding a vehicle propelled by a liberty motor. Good bad or other: it's fact.
