I'll ride with or without my hubby... whats the issue?

Me thinks there is an underlying security issue here.

Our group has a rule of not "riding" your wife/girlfriend when out with us so as to make your ride home together as pleasant as it was getting there!!

You cannot get her unstuck,give instruction,assistance or pressure. And yes the women "regulars" are agressive and sometimes extremely so! (have been outridden b4)
So yes you may find yourself riding with a wife,girlfriend,single lady hell sometimes you can be the only guy!!!

It's about respect,safety,and having fun newbie or not!!
As skidoogirl says above "leave the drama for your mama" it's above that.

This is and can be a very tricky situation! Relationships can be difficult enough the way it is, then throw in the drama and jealously of spending time in the mountains doing something we all love...........sometimes with the other sex; well that is potentially dangerous!

However!! Our group rode with a girl on a recent trip, she didn't have her spouse and we didn't have ours. Although they all ride. There can be questions and concerns, but have to let it all work out. She was a gracious host, and a friend forever. In fact, my wife subsequently rode with her.

Then on a trip this year, the guys went riding and took my truck, trailer, sleds.........and wife on trip with them. They spent 2 days, over night stays with her before I could arrive later. No problems......If I trust them to take care of her on the mountain, I trust them in the other aspects.

This situation, and life..........is about managing expectations. Once that bar is set....people know what the parameters are.

I haven't read all of the replies but I will make sure I do. With that being said, I am single and for the most part, I ride with Hector (1Mex) who is married. I know his wife and kids and all is good. I have rode with other guys on this forum as well, all married. I have also been in the truck when the guy lies to his wife about who he is going riding with. Please, if you love your spouse and trust them, riding with a girl isn't that big of a deal. People assumed that because I am single and mostly ride with Hector that there is something going on, to which I say........Whatever!!! If you know me and are my friend, you'll know that riding is a very big passion of mine and I am just out there to enjoy the snow, hang with my friends and RIDE.

I look at it like this, if your relationship/ marriage is so lacking in trust that you cant even put any sort of faith in your significant other outside of you being with them to monitor their actions then you dont have much of a relationship and might as well break up or get divorced now.

I dont care what my wife does or who she does it with. I dont need or want to monitor her actions or who she's with nor does she need or want to monitor mine. She doesnt care for riding, whatever thats totally cool, she understand its a part of my life and has no problem with me going with anyone. Im the same way with her and the things she likes.

I know shes coming home to me and she knows I will always come home to her. There are only two other women in my life ones my mother and the other is my dog

I'll call her and let her know whats going but I dont need to check in either... Theres nothing worse than riding with guys that are on the phone with thier old lady's every time you stop or every couple hours. Or the lady or man is calling 5000 times throughout the day to "check In"

Being together with someone is a great thing but you have to maintain a separate life as well and still do the things YOU like to do.

I ride with an ex girlfriend probably 80-90% of the time I ride. My wife knows her and knows when we are riding together. If my wife rode then we'd all ride together. Of course my wife isn't the jealous type and we (the ex) only get together to ride.

Side note: Those of you who think sledding is Not a sexual experience are either hiding something from your wife, or need to teach your wife to ride. Sorry for too much info, but some of the best sex of our marriage, and definetely the most memorable, , has been on a sled.

If I would have known you were riding around with a woody all these years I would have slapped a piece of duct tape on my azz checks. Especially since I am usually riding out front!!

I've gotten those crazy phone calls from the wives who think their husband is cheating on them with me!! i tell them, politely cause there is no reason to be rude, that that business is between her and her HUSBAND and she had better talk to him about it if she thinks there is a problem... and then i rapidly scratch that guy of my list of contacts to go ride with!!

don't think that would work with my wife, cause the next thing you'd hear is her knocking on your door!!! and she wouldn't be there to listen to you talk...

how about some respect for your significant other??? i've been married to my wife for almost 21 years and in all that time have never cheated on her once and never will. but i would still never want to her to go running around with a bunch of guys on one of her shopping trips!!! just like i don't go sledding with a bunch of women, out of respect for my wife.

i know if some guy was always wanting to go around with my wife i'd have a little powwow with him and i'll gaurantee he wouldn't come around again. no problem there, trust my wife completely, but that doesn't mean i'm gonna let some guy buddie up to my wife, just not gonna happen!!!

i've always told my wife guys don't have girls for friends unless they want them to become thier girlfriends, been proved time and time again.

so flame me all you want, not interested in being politically correct or being included in a big group hug!!! just know i've seen a lot of marriages go south because of women and men thinking theres no problem with there sig. other hanging out with members of the opposite sex...

I love this thread.... Finally a woman with my same issues. I am always looking to ride with someone and in the past just showed up to the parking lot to ride..

The past year I have ridden with mostly men and I have to say... less drama and BS.... Just my .02 worth.

I do think finding women with the same passion is much more difficult and if her other half does not have the same passion what is she supposed to do???

Turns out we are not far apart.. I ride Revy often and is where I spend most of my time..

I will start my tracks to the west and visit Pemberton now so we will have to plan a ride there as well.

Not sure if you ride Baker any, it is a fun little area and would love it if you came down. Always room for more in my book..
