If I could make an observation...

I have been lurking on Snowest for a few years and have only posted on a few threads. But I have to say that last year all I read was how horrible the 07's were. Fast forward to this year and I see mostly threads about how horrible the 08's are. Granted there are those who do not fall in to the Snowest chasm of complaining and b!tching about the new model and actually post positive comments. Before we go straight to flaming, I have been a Ski-doo guy since I was able to walk. My first sled was a 300cc something Citation, my second sled was a 96 Mach 1 with a 136, my third sled was a 03 144"Summit and this year I just bought a 07 159" XRS (please hold your gasps, rants, BS flames or whatever negative things you might post about this machine) (still with the Challenger Lite) (holy smokes!! Did he just say Challenger Lite???, Yes boys I did...) Each Ski-doo machine I have ridden has been tremendously better than the last (even the XRS, which I F-ing love) Did I just say I love my XRS?? Either I am crazy or neurotic. But either way I love this sled. It is amazing!!!!!!! (one more ! )

So..., point being, do those who b!tch about the newest sled have nothing else better to do in their life than spend more time on Snowest complaining how they got screwed with this year's model and less time riding, or is it just me????

going from a 96 Mach to the 07 800r is a pretty big jump. But I think the those of us who complained about our sleds were upset because we spent 10,000 bucks on a sled that did not perform correctly. Mine has been back to the dealer no less than 15 times since last November. Infact I just got it back again last Friday and took it out Saturday and guess what ? Same problem, different day, so now it has to go back again. I have wasted countless hours messing with this "new" sled and more gas taking it back to the dealer than I want to think about. If your XRS is running great for you that is awesome and I am very happy for you. Not all were bad but most were. You will not know if yours in not working correctly unless you put it up a 40 deg climb in 4' of snow, then come back and tell us how happy you are. People pay good hard earned money for this top of the line equiptment that has lots of issues.

Personally im sick and tired of you guys that post about people *****ing because their brand new sleds have problems that were supposed to be fixed. Funny thing is you guys turn around and post the next week about how you blew a blelt in 50 miles and that your not happy with your sled now. Ride your sled for a few more months before you come on here bashing those of us who have patiently waited for our sleds to be fixed for the past year, I think we deserve it.

I have to agree with ya neversummer, I too loved my 07 with the Challenger lite track. We had 3 in our group, and never experianced the problems others were talking about. The majority of the 07's are running real strong right now, but there will alway's be a few that won't. Same with the 08, 9 out of 10 people complaining about them don't even own one.

Only problem I have with everything you said. I Know some continue to have problems and that sucks but to say most were bad clearly does not reflect reality.

I hope they get you guys fixed up that still have issues, these machines can perform and skidoo should do what it takes. IMO

When I see the repeated b!tching about the '07's and '08's, all it tells me is there are alot of dealers that are either incompetant or just don't care. I can never blame the buyer for a poor running sled unless they did it themselves.
Both these sleds are flat-out impressive, fun and reliable when properly settup. And when they don't work correctly it is the dealer who should make it right.

Ehn, I came from polaris this year and that section is the exact same....it was 800 edge cranks, then it was 900's blowing belts and a bunch of other stuff. I've seen, ridden and enjoyed examples of each and know guys that love them and they work good.

I've had guys tell me how great their 04-06 Rev's are and that (apparently) my 07 was not up to par, but so far everyone's tune has changed when they actually rode the thing. The handling is awesome, the suspension is absolute butter, the boards work good, the bars are comfy, and the 800R has grunt! Sure, I'm about to throw some clutch parts at it trying getting more power, but hey, that's sledding and I've never ridden a sled that couldn't use SOME tweaking. In the meatime, I'm riding the bag off of it and having a helluva good time doing it. I'm not saying it's "the best," but as of RIGHT NOW I wouldn't trade it for any stockish M-sled, older rev, whatever. Would like to try an 800 Dragon and an XP for kicks.

Some guys are having nagging problems and that SUCKS....but that, IMO, is a problem buried much deeper than "magic years" of sleds. The quality control is just not there in the snowmobile industry. The build is simply inconsistant as is the parts quality. Even the 2006 "holy grail year" Revs have problems....look in the blown motor thread, plenty of them, lots of threads about blown chains/chaincase parts/etc. The internet has a short memory.

It's much the same reason Toyota tied GM for worldwide auto sales last year. Building what the people want is the easy part. Building it to last and be trouble-free is harder. Building a bunch of them that way is the kicker.

I second Jaynelson,
I have an 07 XRS and am very happy with it. Sure i had some problems - Ypipe bolts (knew that was going to happen and was too lazy to put the norlocks on first), track sucks but still working for my cheap azz, and i'm having problems squeeking out the last few hundred rpms (clutch definately had some quality control issues) but for the most part this sled rocks! i compare it to 05's and i have the upper edge. Still waiting to find one of the 07's that has all the problems listed...have seen the hot clutches tho and i would also be at the end of my leash if I kept blowing belts. Still have to jump on my buddies 08 to see if i'll get an 09 but right now i couldn't be happier. Sorry to hear others are not :(

It's just YOU!

Let's hear from you when you waste an entire year messing with an un-repairable clutching sytem and spend more time tearing the machine apart than riding...all after spending retail for a snow-check that was supposed to be the best sled offered by BRP and dealing with a dealer network that was given NO tools to fix the problems from the mfr. (600+ miles = 7 blown belts, 1 ECM replacement, 1 DESS key replacement, 3 rounds of updates and numerous other BS) If those circumstances don't make you want to warn others about a sub-standard product and try to save them the misery you are enduring, then call 911 cause you need emergency aid to resuscitate you out of whatever drug-induced coma you might be in....LOL. Be sanctimonious elsewhere regarding what we expect for our hard-earned dough DH!
