Also, the 09 M1000 sno pro 162 I rode had a y-pipe and can and my M8 has a can. Both had powder pro skis, so setup was nearly identical. The M1000 has more grunt for sure and the power is a lot different then the Dragon. The Dragon feels like it revs fast and pulls but has no low end torque. IMO the M8 feels stronger off the bottom.
IMO, the 09 M8 is more flickable then then the 09 Dragon (spent a bunch of time on my buddies 09 163). However, I think the Dragon is easier to throw around then the M1000. The same buddy that has the Dragon had an 07 M1000 and he likes the Dragon a lot better in the handling respect.
I personally would rather ride the Dragon then the M1000. However I do think that the M1000 is more nimble then most of the older or competitive chassis.
To me, its not very much fun to ride a snowmobile that isn't easy to manuever in the powder.
I really hated the old 1M chassis and the REV. Its like riding a tank.
Just my 2 cents worth.
You can call the dealer at 406-388-1313 and see what they say about selling it over the border. I have no idea how that works.
Also, there is a 2010 M8 Sno Pro 153 on ebay for 10k and its in Minnesota I think.
