I was skeptical............

In an earlier thread a few weeks ago, I was lamenting about my 2012 M1100T not being covered for getting a new secondary.

Someone on that thread, said that all I had to do was send your dealer your receipts for the belts you blew, and Cat might cover the new secondary.

I was skeptical to say the least........

However, I did what was suggested and a week later I got a call from my dealer "No problem, Cat will take care of it"

My dealer told me that Cat wanted to make sure that they were not just Willy Nilly giving away clutches for people who did not have belt blowers.

I still think there should have been a recall on everyone of these (I think the secondary will eventually begin to bind up over time), but they did take care of the issue.

We shall see if it makes a difference..........

Mine is a '12 800 153, as soon as I heard about the update I went into my dealer and inquired about getting the new clutch covered under warranty. They did the vin search or whatever they do to look for updates/recalls and said I was able to purchase the discounted clutch. My sled is a belt blower so they called and talked to the warranty dept. and got it covered with no cost to me. I didn't need receipts but the dealer had record of my purchase history. So the new updated clutch showed up last week. :face-icon-small-hap

You screwed up Jeff.......

You only blew one belt. You could have had the new clutch and kept your old one for $150. I never blew a belt and my original looks good and now I have a spare clutch.
