i was insulted at a dealer today

i know for a FACT other dealers do not have insurance (worked for 2 other dealers besides NG) they didnt lose your bike. it got STOLEN, along with a bunch of other atv's and such. you need to know the FACTS before slandering. when you get work done to your vehicle at MANY dealers and it is vandalized or stolen throughout the night they WILL NOT cover your costs OR buy you a new vehicle. YOUR insurance will. do you know how much insurance is for dealerships on just their stuff?? it would boggle your mind.
about the staff....no comment. they have good and they have bad. just like EVERY other dealership.
too many fraud claims have been put forth spiking their insurances. are they to do a complete vehicle inspection before AND after doin a service?? people were doin to much of the, "that wasnt there when i brought it here" this is fact. ive worked for 6 different dealerships through out Canada and its the same EVERYWHERE.

like i stated b4. everyone has a story about a dealer where they had a unpleasant encounter. and i seriously feel bad that your stuff got stolen (i hate thieves soooo much) is NG the BEST dealership....not by a long shot. BUT they have done some MAJOR changes in the last 2 years. especially in the most important area's....SERVICE. no longer does the service manager work there that you know of. 2 GREAT mechanics now for recreation. it takes time to change but they are on the right path.
hey, go deal with han%en.....you'll be VERY unhappy. i know the owner there too. not going there......:beer;

The Bike was stored outside and there security system was not up to par at all. and as for other dealers not having insurance? my last three dealerships i have dealt with were all completely insured on their lot and building. Both valley motosport locations in the okanagan and my local Honda dealership, and they are equipped with on sight surveillance and motion detectors in their yard. i know that they cant completly prevent a theft but the lack care that was given was astronomical. and even though they were not willing to replace my bike, they didnt even go to the lengths of offering me a deal on a new bike. I bought Two effing bikes from their location and 2 thousand dollars plus in gear and parts and was a devout customer. so you may look as it as slander but i look at it as a good customer being severly let down. it also wasent there first break in, and they did not verbaly explain to me that they werent insured or that the bike would be left outside. after talking to the manager he litteraly told us we were on our own.

i went to ng honda today and he told me he had 08 leftovers ,i said dont bother giving me a quote, about the dealer though , they carry very limited parts, thier always a week away, thier sales staff r very green. on the way back home i stoped in gaudins honda and spoke with a former 25 yr cat sales person, he took out his books, black was 8500 and blue was 6500, he had a good laugh at tartans offer, i told him wat they said about my m7 smoking, he laughed and said"it better smoke" or somthings wrong. anyways thanks guys for chimming in, this got way more attention than i expected, im gonna sell private and deal hard when i get my cash. the only thing i dont understand is how riders can afford to do this sport when ur losing thousands of dollars every year on ur ride plus mtc and fuel cost, not everybody is making 6 figure wages.

some have to have the best and will do anything to have it and lots are probably financed to the balls...

How are these guys for warrenty, had the clip on the power valve servo fall off and ding up my secondary a bit, not bad, but did get a couple good dings in the helix, which is a dalton(cutler kit) should make things more interesting.

you know i really believe that if they dont have a cage to put your sled in or bike in then maybe it should go to a different dealer i would be hot if my sled got stolen and the dealer said too bad i just got done selling a 07M1000 for 5500 i live in wa and i thought i did pretty well considering the market it was a snopro with a vanamburg bumper 09 light and flap and around 500 in other parts for it i just felt lucky i got rid of it at all with the market good luck with your sale im sure someone will take it

you are correct. the security system was NOT up to par. after that theft they installed a better system and reinforced all the fencing around the entire lot, installed security cameras.
i hear ya man, i would be pissed too....no doubt. fact is they do not have insurance for it. maybe they should be more telling in this fact.
BUT i would go to them over any other Cat dealer in the area because of Ryan and Pete in the shop. they really are that good. and they care...even go on rides with the customers after installs and such. make sure everything is good. PLUS they have a brand new 4 bay shop just for rec.

like i said, every dealership has its good with its bad...especially in its staffing department.

sucks they didnt even offer you a deal on a new bike. i bet if you would have talked to brent you would have had a different outcome...but how would you know eh?

Had a buddie have the same problem at our AC dealer just the other day, same sled too M1000 and the same upgrade to a new m8 pro. His price was a tad better 6100 for the 1000, he had the box, pipe, air, and simmons skis. The dealer said that the used sled market right now was in the toliet. My friend just laughed at the dealer and walk out the door.

What was there to laugh about? Another MARKET offer on a used sled. Do you guys complaining about this ever look at what these machines are really selling for today? I could have my pick of a half dozen '08 M1000's in good shape, most with extras for $6000-6500 just about any day I surf the sale ads. The dealer is obligated to take a hit for you? Not if it were my business. If I were the dealer I would be laughing right back because if you really want to sell, you are going to get the same money or less, have to wait to get a sale, and you are doing all the work.

So you get a fair offer, based on the market, which dealers do not have any control over, and you walk, not getting the new sled you want because your ego was bruised. I just don't get it.

Of course riding an M1000 for another year isn't exactly punishment either.

Just remember, the used market is going to do nothing but continue to drop like a stone, just like the economy. If you can afford what you want, good for you. If you don't like the state of the market and economy, remember how we got here next time you get a chance to vote. It isnt the dealers, how would you like to be in their shoes, selling expensive luxury items, or not. They have no control over new pricing, you guys buying new sleds SHOULD already know that.

Well with that being said I would keep my old sled and buy a new M8 pro off the floor and sell the old one out right when ever the time was right. And in the mean time have a great back up sled. So I really would not worry about the market or the reason the eco. is in the shape its in.

Must be nice, some of us need to worry about our jobs and if they are going to be there tomorrow. Not everybody can pony up $10-15k a year for a new toy.:)

thats how i bought my 1grand , my m7 had a failure witch was wat my son was ridding, parts were going to be weeks away , so i gave him my m8 and i bought the 10, it was chitty timing caus it was in the spring, and really didnt want an 08, i wanted to wait and get an 09 m8, but like i said the part was not available and winter is to short , thats y i have 3 sleds, i hate my 1000 with a passion , im an aggressive rider, like ridding the creek beds and trees ,and i only weigh 160, so it rides me not me riding it, at the end of the day im played out
