I might jump ship & would like your opinions.....

EVERYTIME I start leaning toward the pro I hear/read a story like this. EVERYTIME! I would be so pi$$ed! I get 10 days/yr if I'm lucky. I don't know if I can bring myself to take the risk.

Ok, I'll give you a better story for the Pro's:D I have five, 2 '11s one has 3500 miles, the other has 2000. Two 12"s each has 700ish on 'em, and a 13 w/ just shy of 1000 on it. I have not had one problem with any of them, basic maintenance and away we go. BTW I like the Cat, if I didn't ride the Poo's that's what I'd ride.

Basic maintenance does not eliminate the design flaw in this motor.

Either you are lucky to have that many miles on that many liberty motors, or you're not riding them hard. I have seen and dealt with too many failures that I'm sick to my stomach with Polaris. Flame away...

:D Hear ya, but these aren't babied by any stretch of the imagination. I must confess I do put new clutches on at 2000 miles and change out the the weights at 1000. AND they are box stock.

I wish my luck was better but it isn't. I go over everything, clean clutches, inspect, etc etc after every single ride. I'm more maintenance anal than 99% of everyone out there. Shoot I work on all my riding buddy's sleds constantly to ensure they are top notch too. Still doesn't change the percentages of failures I've seen between the two brands of motors. I wish I could put my old Indy Dan edge liberty into my pro. That thing was rock solid. I guess it's just been a bad couple days for me since my motor failed on the deepest day of the year last weekend in the snowies before I even got to the pow...and now I wait a month where I'd have a cat motor sent out in no time.

I'm sure you were there to enjoy that pow last weekend, we all deserved it around here :face-icon-small-win

Yep, that sucks, waiting for a motor for a month is asinine. Believe me, when I was a dealer I had several heated discussions with warranty and parts.:frusty::frusty:

I traded up from my 08 Dragon to a 2012 Pro. I decided rather than test a new belt drive system to take the $$ and put a proven CMX belt drive on it and see what happens. Now that we have 500 miles on I love it and to say the least it is one of the best upgrades I have ever put on a sled. It comes with a new track shaft and window drivers so that problem is gone. They run a CMX gates belt that has never had an issue so that worry is gone. I put fox air on it so the ride is as good as you want it. The bumper sucks but a 32$ upgrade from Holtz fixed that. With some clutch work and a pipe it goes any where I point it so far this year. I have been riding with friends and there 2013 pro's and have seen the belt come apart. Maybe the 2014 will have everything fixed who knows. We all say we :face-icon-small-hapwant a sled we can just buy it and ride it but half the fun is playing with it in the shop at night! RIGHT
Good upgrades D8, CMX and Fox Floats are top of the line.
