I have ridden cat pretty much my whole life. Had a 12', wasn't impressed. bought a 13', loved it. I rode along side 6 different pros and was equally impressed with them. Due to "circumstances" and $ issues I had to sell my 13' proclimb. Right now I am 50/50 on what I am getting next year. When the 14's drop I will know more, but as of now I truly think I could go either way and be happy. Lots of pros/cons to each sled....and the more I read snowest, the more paranoid I become about both brands. (I have been lurking over here since the beginning of the year.)

Here is what I am looking for from you Poo Pro owners....what DON'T you like about your sled or what would you change about your pro rmk? I ask because we can all go on for days saying what we loved, who we whooped up on and how we are way better than.....50% or more will be bs. Negative feed back (for the most part) is more reliable in my opinion. So even you guys that think the Pro is KING must have something you don't like....and I would like to hear it.

:cheer2:

Don't worry about it. All the brands are the best and worst. You have owned a Cat and a Polaris, now go for the Ski-Doo or a Yamaha. It doesn't matter as long as you ride. 550iq

1. I haven't owned a POO...thinking of it.
2. I see what you are saying but nothing this forum says will ultimatly make my decision. But I am bored, done for the year :face-icon-small-sad and want the conversation. So........:focus:
oh and 3. I would rather quit than ride a yamaha.

Excellent Thread samiams2

Well I agree on that!
Well it seems that you only want the less than positive side of the Pro RMK. Okay, fair enough.:face-icon-small-hap
I don't like...:face-icon-small-fro
Oil leaking out of the Y-pipe.
Recall on the drive shaft.
Break in period for the Quick Drive belt.
The rear bumper.
But for a stock sled I do like the following!

There is nothing I don't like about it. You're opening up a can of worms asking the whiners what they don't like about it just sayin!!!

I know I run that risk but if you ask a guy, how you like your pro rmk....."Love it". You ask a guy how you like your Pro Climb...."Love it". you didn't learn anything. even if they go in detail its "it handles great" or "its flickable" or "gets on snow better than anything Ive had"....or my favorite"it beats every poo/cat I go against". Everyone's definition of flickable better and great is different. IMHO you get a more detailed and honest response from most people) if you ask what they don't like. When I read reviews of a product or a car, order them from worst to first. How many and content of bad reviews tell a lot about a product IMHO.

Maybe it would be better to ask: what would you change about your pro rmk? same thing but less inflammatory I guess. :face-icon-small-dis

As a package I love it. Things I think can be improved on:

1. Stock gauge location, I find hard to read
2. Rear bumper is crap
3. Oil filling is a pain
4. Lack of useful storage, even the tool pouch sucks

I own a 13 and totally agree with the post above. Couple others.....
- Stock rear suspension is very soft and bottoms easily with my 175lbs during normal riding on hard pack, let alone if I was bombing a trail.
- I have had no problems, but have friends who have nuked the quick drive belt in conditions that with a normal chain set up they would have been fine. Definitely sacrificed reliability for cost and weight savings.
- Powder coated tunnel would only add a few pounds but save much more from snow/ice build up. Doo and Cat both have it, wish Polaris would follow.

1. Front and Rear bumper (already have a edge rear and ordering a MMS front)
2. Quick drive "might break" when I am out in the middle of no were.
3. Drive Shaft ^ ^ ^ ^
4. Hot grips kind of suck with out corking or new bars.
5. Having to spend money on a sled just so I can ride.

I think my '13 has been a great sled. I haven't had any issues at all. I don't see the problem with the belt drive break-in other than it whined a little. I got the drive shaft update and never had a problem. I don't think anyone has broke down for that reason with the update applied.

Here are my changes...
-Stock shocks are fine for some but too soft and spongy for me. The rear bottoms out too easily.
-My white LE hood is starting to flake. I'm hoping it doesn't get worse
-Storage isn't great stock, but there are plenty of aftermarket options
-More power is always good. But I think you would find that the Pro does just fine against all the others. It's lighter and gets up on the snow better.
-I wish less people had them. Now it seems like 70% of the mtn riders are on Pro's now.

I would love to see the running boards as wide as the XM's. But would that make it wash out on steeper terrain? That was one of the first things I noticed about the Ski Doo.

I would rather see a separate tach/speedo as well instead of the digital.

Powdercoated tunnel/skid

Telescoping handle bars?

I did jump ship last year and went from riding cat to polaris. I've road a cat since dad got us a early 90s jag. I rode 03 F7 which I ran with a longtracked 151 for 2 yrs, a 05 M7 for 3 years, and a 09 M8 for 4 years. Last winter I rode a friends pro climb and just couldn't like it. So I ordered a 13 pro rmk after our first trip I really like it. It took me about half a day to get used to it. I did unhook the sway bar also which made it handle great imo. Its hard to explain but I think its easy to tip and hold at any angle like the old body Cats if not easier. Its steering and bump handling is exceptional compared to the old cats IMO. Things I like the running boards, seat, and suspension although it does bottom a little easy. Things I would change especially after swapping with a friends 2011 M8 for a bit. The powderclaw is a better track in most conditions, the handlebars are a bit wide for my liking, its short a little HP, and not to sound like a wuss but Cat still has the nicest throttle pull.

I would get a 12 and put the $$ difference in extended warranty, clutching, kmod skid with raptors....and avoid the driveshaft and belt drive problems.ngood sled (for a Poolaris) besides those little issues.

The narrow boards and body are what makes the pro work in steep terrain. Wide boards are bad for mountain riding.
As far as the tack, simpler is better and lighter. I don't hardly look at my guage all day.
I will agree on the powdercoating.
As far as bars the pro bars are too tall for most people and I'm 6'1".
The 13 pro is the first sled that you really don't have to do anything to have fun. Most people won't even ride it to it's potential in stock form. Reliability is the only thing that is killing polaris. A four year warranty helps but it doesn't cover the chopper ride. If I was going to gripe about anything it would be the shocks. It has the worst ride of the three.

Shocks are too plush for me, but im a big guy.
Seat, slippery as hell, but i stand alot.
Bars are too wide/tall. This sled doesnt require leverage, at all.
Boards on my '12 are starting to bend.
Bumpers are junk.
Starting to notice engine vibration/chatter...
And choosing storage options stinks.

Overall, very minor things, except the engine chatter. And i havent really bothered doing anything to it yet, just keep enjoying riding it!

Well, The shocks sack out early and there is the DS & QD issues of which I can't speak of due to not having any issues. Thanks to the Happy Clamp...I would say the Pro has some faults and some shines. As do the others, but Damn, do I have alot of fun on this Pro chassis! It shines in the deep and in the trees.

You are 20 years younger than me and likley have alot more ability & probably more energy than I do on a sled, but this 13 pro makes me feel confident and able to ride well...It makes me better than I am.

1,300+ trouble free miles on my '12

I concur on the leaky Y pipe and the rear bumper. Just slather your donut in high temp RTV as soon as you take possession. The CF isn't "junk" but it is inadequate for this application. What are crap, are the factory scratchers. I just broke one for the 3rd time. I ride at night a lot and would like my headlight and hand-warmer toggles illuminated.

Otherwise, let it come to temp before getting on the gas and then ride the hell out of it.

1-Hand and thumb warmers not separated.
2-Wish it had more cooling for getting up the trails. Seems I always need to keep the scratchers down and the speed up to keep the engine cool getting to the riding areas.

Otherwise I've got 700 miles since April 14th, 2012 and no issues.

X2. I have to put the scratchers down a lot and keep the speed up to keep it cool.
