Got it one hour ago and so far no drool and no signs of death.

I'll keep this thread updated with my eventual downward spiral.

I'm sure your 3rd nipple will appear soon and the alien droids that big brother planted in the vaccine will begin to control your thought process.

Oh and the other side effect that is not widely known.... you will start to smell and taste like bacon!

Not getting one, Girlfriend is on the planning committee for pandemic planning in the state. Not going to have a weaker strain introduced to our systems and risk exposure to the teenager. 3 young people have died from H1N1 so far in our state. Another 19yr old recently came out of 9 day coma from it. She was diagnosed with H1N1, Influenza A & B, A staff infection and pneumonia. She said her initial system was a sore throat and headache. We are not going to risk exposing the kid to anything of the such and we are simply practicing a bit of social distancing and good hand hygiene. GF works at a hospital and several are not wanting to take it due to the vaccine has changed several times, the virus mutates quickly so it may not work anyway, and it has not been thorougly tested enough to see what it may do to people long term.

Not saying you shouldn't take it, but based on the information we have learned we are risking going without the H1N1 vaccine but will take the reg flue vaccine.

Sure no "physical" side effects but now the government can track your every movement

I'm hearing the seasonal flu vaccine is making people MORE susceptible to the H1N1...

This H1N1 is taking out young healthy people. Something like 80% going into ICU for days... There isn't that many ICU beds...

I'm taking the polar opposite. I work in a hospital. We have an ICU full of H1 pts, plus people coming into the ER. I have daily contact with these and unknowns, I'm not willing to chance bringing that home to my 4, 1.5 and 2 week old.

Yeah there's a chance of getting sick from the mist, but I wanna say that is pretty slim.

And hey if I get sick and die, well the wife can always sue my employer.

I hear 80% percent of all statistics are made up 40 % of the time

The girlfriend and I keep flip flopping on the issue. This is in internal message from between coworkers at the hospital today. I ommitted names.

Your request was a good thing because it revealed that *** needed to update the relevant Clarity tables so they’re nicely up to date each week. I already had that report built, but the data was dodgy (until *** did his little dance around the server). Just holler when you want it and it shall appear.

My wifey *** is on the pandemic flu committee (or as I call it, the “Apocalypse Committee”) and lives and breathes flu vaccine and the whole H1N1 preparedness thing. She’s been on *** three times, *** once, and has had interviews with ***, the ****(newspaper** and the **** Journal talking about the vaccine supply. So, I beat the drum where I can because, if Dr **** is right (and he surely is), we ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Respondant: So, what is the consensus for the H1N1 vaccine?

Sender: As for safety, it’s perfectly safe. They manufacture it in the same plants, with the same processes as the seasonal vaccine, except they just swap out the strain of virus. Think “cherry diet coke” vs “lime diet coke”. Same diet coke, different flavour. Actually, it has less potential for antigenicity owing to having only one strain instead of the three in the seasonal, and we don’t particularly worry much about the seasonal.

The vast majority of cases are in younger people, especially the under 18 crowd who are at highest risk. You’re a youngster with young kids at home, so you and your young’uns should definitely get it when it’s available.

Cheers!

that is alot like what our work place sent out.

Made it through the night with no negative side affects aside from crying kids.

Looks like we won't have to worry about making the decision. Vaccine not yet available to us and kid just came down with all symtoms of H1N1 last night. Now we are in the process of monitoring her for emergency treatment signs.

As of this morning here in northern lower michigan we have over 50 schools closed due to the flu so I am doomed, My daughter brings home a sniffle & I get the full blown crud :(

My oldest came home last Weds complaining of body aches, headache, stomach ache etc. She woke up the next morning with a 104 temp. needless to say, I told her to take some Tylonal and I would leave work and take her to the Doctor. Took her in, and sure enough, she has the flu. The Doctor would not confirm or deny that she has the H1N1... But the Doctor did give her and I an Rx to Tamiflu. Told my daughter to take two pills a day for 5 days and myself to take 1 pill for 10 days.

Needless to say, I did not want the wife or the 15 month old to come down with the virus, so I sent them to the cabin for the weekend. So far no one else in the house has come down with it. Yet....
